But i had saw a post saying Solasfera 0.38CT with setting less than 2.8K, wondering how true is it.

Just set my ring with Ling Jewellery. Opted for something different so went with a 4-prong rose gold setting instead of white gold accompanied by some side diamonds.

Was initially set on having it done in 6 prongs but when wore with an eternity ring, it'll leave a much wider gap. A 4-prong would be more flushed.

I prefer the 4 claw. It covers the diamond less and it exposes more of the diamond. Mine is a Brellia so no choice can only choose 4 prongs.. haha

I always thought 4 prongs was better because it's easier to clean. Lol

normally the difference is not very visible on the diamond itself, but when you look at the hearts and arrows scope, can see that the spacings between the hearts and arrows are even and symmetrical throughout, the hearts are cut into similar sizes, etc.. generally an ideal diamond will not be able to pass this test, which is why it is categorised ideal instead of super ideal

I went down to JP shortly after reading about it in this thread about 3 weeks ago.

Vince was the person that served me, he was very professional and not pushy at all.
My gf (then) wanted a customized design and Vince was able to come up with in less than 3 weeks!

I am really impressed by his level of service and their workmanship.

Needless to say, i popped the question last week in time for her birthday and she loves the ring a lot.

I thought of getting from overseas like bluenile, but i think getting from JP saves you all the hassle and eliminates all the unknowns.

Not to mention the warranty and free resizing and replating service!

All in, i paid a little over $6k for my ring which is the standard pricing they have across the board.

I think he meant the 4 prongs in the corners kind of setting and not the north south east west.

As there's a prong at 6 o clock position for 6 prongs, that might cause some gap. However, i personally hate the 4 prongs setting using the 4 corners...it made the diamond look square..

The NSEW orientation definitely looked the worst out of the 3 options. 4 prong felt the cleanest in a way but I do understand why you mentioned it might look like a square. I preferred how it looked from the sides as compared to the 6 prong with the crown setting which was very tacky for me.
