if your SO is colour sensitive, suggest that you take the F instead. G i can see tinge of yellow (and i have partial colour deficiency somemore).

Can't really compare actually, hers is the current standard of super ideal, yours fall under ideal and not super ideal currently. There's afew flaws on your scope images which is why it's ideal, you sure you remember correctly that they told you yours is super ideal? If that's the case, then they gotten even stricter over the years 😧

Yup, abit of leakage on the table, clefts in the hearts like you highlighted, and also in the hearts scope, all the 'arrows' are not the same proportion. All of these will not be found under the current super ideal standard

paul hung sold me the diamond
he told me is super ideal cuts
maybe the requirement has change over the years, thing improves

another reason could be the technology used in taking the scope pictures
for eg, its easier to view the laser serial now as compared to previous

i guess only paul or maybe DawnMin will know the difference

I guess they gotten stricter then, probably for the sake of standing out among the competitors (especially online stores like whiteflash/Bluenile/Jamesallen etc.) the stricter requirement of JP now gives them the advantage over the rest of the competitors as consumer likes to compare lol

Looks like an ideal level, arrows not perfectly aligned. Is this from an online store? Worth buying if the price is right, or you might wish to head down to JP to compare prices and quality

Not advertising for anyone, and I do not earn any commissions of any sort or use affiliate links, but decided to list down some diamonds from online retailers that might be good buys. I'm probably gonna get the diamond I reserved at JP but looking through diamonds is actually kinda fun, so may as well post the good ones here in case anyone is interested. Can compare against the many JP scope images that appear here as well for academic purposes!

For now, looking at round brilliant cut diamonds with the following criteria:
1) 1.00 to 1.50 carats
2) D to G colour
3) FL to VS2 clarity
4) Only GIA Triple Excellent / AGS 0 graded diamonds with no flurorscence, pointed culet
5) With Idealscope / ASET scope images readily available
6) Price below USD 11,000.

Since price differences for diamonds below 0.7/0.8 carats are not much between online retailers and JP, I would fully recommend going to JP if you are looking for a smaller diamond. If you're looking for a larger diamond, usually above 1 carat, no harm looking around for alternatives to compare against!

Start off with a big 1.312 ct that I came across at Whiteflash.

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3642155.htm

From Whiteflash's A Cut Above collection. AGS 0
1.312ct / G / VS2
Price: USD $11,399 (by wire transfer)
HCA: 0.8

Pros:
Price is quite good for a 1.312 ct G VS2 (Price per carat ~ USD 8,688/carat)

Cons:
Very slight cleft in hearts
Visible inclusions, although Whiteflash classifies this as "eye-clean" according to their in-house test (No inclusions visible to the naked eye of a person with 20/20 vision when viewing the diamond in the face-up position at a distance of approximately 10 inches under normal overhead lighting)
Table is a bit smaller at 56.6%

Don't forget to include in the wire bank charges, bank foreign currency exchange rate, 7% GST when shipped into SG, and also about 2x the usual cost if doing the setting locally when diamond not bought from the local retailer.
And of cuz, no after sales services and upgrading for local purchase.

Yup definitely. Although can set the diamond with the retailer (but still about 2x the price). Upgrading depends on the retailer, but the good ones (Whiteflash, GoodOldGold, Brian Gavin Diamonds) do offer upgrading and buyback.
