Except for people who care more about the fame of owning a T&C ring or Cartier Ring (Definitely must show case the box and brand on photo) :s13: So ultimately depends on individual preference, it's not wrong to purchase for brand too.

Ya la, I just dont get why go for branded rings when people can only see how big or sparkly the diamond is. Then again, as long as the ''boss'' is happy can liao

Not really ah, when her 'GFs' ask her about the ring, she can say it's from Tiffany or Cartier :s13:

Ya la, or you can do what my friend did. He bought a ring elsewhere then put on top of a Tiffany magazine. Post on insta and tag Tiffany. Technically he did ''tag'' correctly and everyone thought it was a Tiffany ring :s13:

Color for sure. Clarity is like the baseline. I will not go anything below VS2 for clarity. Just be sure that its eye clean and its structurally safe can already. If you got money to spare then up the clarity. Color will affect the appearance more than the clarity. You also want to be careful of the hue and tone. High colors grade can still have those unwanted hues like brown

How to look at the hue and tone?

Hi bros :)

been lurking in this thread for quite awhile

and have a raft idea of how much a super ideal would cost

i saw that its around

for 0.43 carat vs1 grade f with setting is 3.3k

but i would like to ask, lets say if i were to change it to solasfera, instead of taking the super ideal cut. raftly how much would the price difference be?

and do u guys think that its worth the upgrade if i were just to get a 0.43 carat solasfera over a super ideal?

P.S: GF dont really mind the diamond :X but i feel that as she is the girl of my life, i feel that it is right that i at least give her a diamond once in her lifetime haha!

Hi, got my solasfera, 0.43 E VS1, quoted at 3.2k without setting.

Been told that its about 15% higher than a super ideal cut.

Since its a once in a lifetime thing, I’d went for the premium diamond :)

Must see it in person, my partner actually find the Solasfera bling messy even at 1 carat, perhaps will look more unified at 1.5CT range.

Don't just look at the online video, that's zoomed in and it looks great on video is because you're kinda looking at a 5 CT on a video considering it's zoomed in hahaha.

I'll choose the 0.52 E VS2 or 0.51 D VS2. 0.01ct cannot be the difference. The 0.52 E VS2 and 0.53 F VS2 same price, then go for the 0.52 E VS2. If can spend $200 more, then the 0.51 D VS2

Tapping on collective intelligence/experience here

Has anyone changed their sales representative midway through working on a ring?

I'm thinking of changing my sales representative from Jann Paul as he don't seem knowledgeable and sharp enough to pay attention to quite a number of my requests/preferences/requirements and would like a second opinion on how I should go about requesting for a change of sales representative to continue on.

Recommendations are welcomed too.

I had 4 diff staff served me for the whole thing. Mine was more complicated as I went down afew times to see my diamond and discuss the custom design. My free time was very limited so they swap around the staff to accommodate my timing.

I think its ok to change the sales rep since each of them sorta have their own specialty. From my own experience, if you are more into design, Jann will be good and for diamond, Casey and William is good too. Joy helped me with my ring wax and was very friendly. I'm not sure about the rest as I've not met them.

Ask your sales representative when he or she off, then walk in on that day... :D

Newbie here. Going to get an engagement ring. Budget 1200-2000 SGD. Any recommendations ? Not very wealthy here. just a normal wage earner.

I think for this carat size don't need VVS1 D bc most people won't see it very clearly. I suppose for 3EX maybe you can change to VS2 maybe a F and try to up the size to 0.40 for total 2.5k equivalent? 0.45 would be a good 'average'/easily acceptable size.

You can check at House of Hung for their 3EX diamonds, I think the price point is lower than Jann Paul Super Ideal. My ring setting (external customer cos I didn't buy my diamond from them) was 600 by them so it's definitely lower than Venus Tears.

Can try House of Hung/Poh Heng range, if you're not fussy about diamond quality can try to buy from diamond warehouse / loose diamond sale (I checked at Michael Trio's online diamond list) I think you can get 0.4 ct for 1.5k? Then remaining 600 or so for ring setting.
