They use Asian size. It should be the same as elsewhere. Better to ask JP to be safe.

Can ask for the US size equivalent or the diameter of the inner ring (in mm) so it's easier to ask when you go around.

planning for proposal soon, hence decided to go JP to have a look. would like to seek your comments and view on the diamond below please.

Diamond type: Octagon Brilliant

Oqe96lO

Scope images are not the best, but it is still okay. But D VVS2 is a very high specs, you might want to consider lowering the grades a little to upsize a little.

Hi all, I have a Jann Paul deposit of $500, letting it go at $450. Got another ring from private jeweller instead hence selling this deposit.

As mentioned by Jann Paul, can only transfer the deposit if you havent place any deposit with them yet.

If you are interested, please contact me via whatsapp 94747108.

Thanks!

Just as I was about to share my recent finished ring done at JP haha. Just want to say that I'm totally in love and satisfied with the diamond, ring setting, and of course not forgetting, the really pleasant service at JannPaul.

I'd like to give a shoutout to Eugene, Judy/Julie and Joy for their great assistance from the choosing of my diamond, designing of my ring, to the final beautifully crafted ring itself. Eugene was the main person I had liaised with throughout the entire process, but I was served by different staffs throughout as my schedule wasn't able to meet his at times.

Nonetheless, despite that, Eugene is very patient and helpful in guiding me through the whole journey. All in all, a big thumbs up to Eugene for his impeccable service. I'll highly recommend him when you head to JP. I am very happy to receive my finished proposal ring, as I wanted the ring to be special and meaningful for her, and for us.

I'll let the pictures do the talking:

Fixed your broken links. You need to add the ''.jpg'' at the back.

Scopes are fine. Lots of red / light return and good hearts.

Was trying to compute the HCA score but it seems like its over 1.5

Is Octagon considered super ideal?

So i read thru the trilogy of proposal rings part i, ii and now iii. almost died. studied the various 4c, scopes, HCA. received further education from JP. visited poh kim so here is where im at. in short getting a ring budget 4k with setting (plain design).

JP showed me a couple of diamonds all SIC, did not get to see the GIA certs or Scopes but im assuming they are more or less what the bros posted here in terms of quality of the scopes since its SIC and from JP. will follow up on getting the cert specs and scopes in detail.

0.41 D VVS2 $2950
0.41 E VVS1 $2850
0.43 D VS1 $3050
0.43 E VVS2 $2900
0.51 G VS2 $3700
0.53 G VS1 $3900
0.54 G VS1 $4100

all rings setting quoted at $550.

poh kim's visit. saw 3 diamonds. was given a scope for viewing, if i were to rate JP's Scopes posted here and the scopes i saw during my education at JP at 100%. poh kim's diamonds would be 85-90% of wat JP's ones are. in short the arrows are straight but not as straight, the hearts are symectrical but still intact, evident whitemini triangles of light leakage in the centre of the idealscope. its not to say poh's diamonds are totally bad cuts. i would jsut say its not as top tier as JP. below are the specs, HCA scores using GIA certs that i saw from the diamonds entered into HCA to get the following results.

0.55 E VS2 $3000
HCA 1.4
-light return excellent
-fire excellent
-scintillation very good
-spread very good

0.59 F VS2 $3150
HCA 1
-light return excellent
-fire excellent
-scintillation excellent
-spread very good

0.61 F VS2 $3400
HCA 0.8
-light return excellent
-fire excellent
-scintillation excellent
-spread very good

Settinig $250.

i've enquired with JP to request for similar specs of diamonds with ideal cuts rather then SIC and will report my findings tomorrow.

in the mean time here is where im having a dillemma. with a limited budget its impossible to get every 4c top top top. we all learn that CUT is the most important factor and should not be sacrificed.

knowing that i'll be within a caret size of 0.4 to 0.59, at that size VS2 clarity shld suffice assuming the inclusions are spread and not clustered in the centre. at this size range color D would be unecssary as i wont be able to tell E and F from D. G im not quite sure yet.

my main question would be, given tat a 0.41 and 0.59 caret diamond size being noticable in size difference to ANYbody's naked eye. would it be wise to sacrifice the SIC cut for a ideal cut for a trade off of a larger diamond. or would a 0.41 SIC have the same noticeable brillance and scintillation compared to just a ideal cut 0.59 diamond.

in short does the 0.59 size outweigh (no pun intended) the 0.41? or the "bling" of the 0.41 have greater prominence over the 0.59?

as we cant borrow 1 diamond from 1 retailer and A/B side by side with another diamond from another retailer. im interested to hear the opinions of those who have owned multiple diamonds to give their 2cents. my fear is that the 0.59 thou larger in size will, as they say look noticeably "duller", that itself kinda makes the larger in size "better" argument moot.

cheers

Is Octagon considered super ideal?

HCA only applies to the round shaped diamonds with 57 facets. It doesn’t work for other shapes. The scopes will be more useful.

My turn to share my ring pics. Bought, proposed and sealed the deal already :D Been busy and finally had some time to post. We went to JP first to learn the diamond education, then around to see whats out there. Finally, ended up where we first started at JP.

I must say, in terms of knowledge, transparency and quality value wise, they stand out the most. I don't need to explain much here since many of you guys are already talking about them. All I have to say is that you should experience it yourself to get what I mean.

The main person who served us was Joy. During our other visits, Casey and Sam helped us too. We had great experience with all of them. As my gf already know about the ring since we bought together, Joy helped me to keep it a surprise for her and told her the ring was ''delayed'' :s13: So I still managed to have an element of surprise that the ring was ready early.

Gf chose the octagon diamond. I preferred the solasfera, but she's the one wearing it. But after I see the final ring when its all done up, the more I look at it, the more I'm liking it. Diamond is sparkling to the max. Outside or inside, it still looks damn good. My MIL see also like.

These are the photos from my gf's instagram

Ooops! lol Everything was 6k with the side diamonds setting. Diamond is 0.61 F VS2. The octagon will cost abit more than the super ideals because of the additional 88 facets
Grats again.. Quite shocked about the price difference between a 0.61 f vs2 versus a 0.78 e vvs2 lol..
