Looks good to me, did you go for the tapered white gold band?

Sure your gf will love this

Sent from 10char using GAGT

the price of the diamond was quoted at 2.4k. i think its quite reasonable? they also showed me a 0.43 SIC which was priced at 2.78k :o

they did show me this tapered bandhttps://imgur.com/FziGrvT

However she liked rose gold/ gold more, as such didn't went for white gold even though i preferred white gold.

i actually liked this design also we had a discussion about the ring design, he was like recommending me to remove the 2 sides groves of the diamond holder as they say it may get hooked onto something when being worn. and i requested the ring to be glossy finished instead of woodish lol.. they say they will do a 3D render and get back to me within 1-2weeks :) any comments for the ring bellow? haha. they will render out 1 with the grove and 1 without.

1 thing to note is that some people find that the yellow/rose gold affect the color/look of the diamond.

No comments ah bro.. setting is individual preference.. The process is very simple.. U either go get the proposal ring alone.. like I did and trust that you know her enough to get something she likes.. or if you involve her in the process, then don't interfere too much with what she wants..

2 cents worth as a guy :s13:

i think youre very very lucky to have so many options
sounds like your budget is 10k?

i think 0.78 is a very good stone. Colour and clarity is the most preferred one (not too high that you pay a lot more and not too low that you feel unsettled), and coupled with the fact that you're getting a visually 0.8 rock at a 0.7x price, id say it's a very good stone!!

++ very rare to have a 0.x8 stone too

the 0.8 one was the only one left in that range but it had G and VS2. Wouldn’t mind to pay alittle more if i could change the latter Cs.
Funny enough i was the one that mentally cannot take it if the stone is below VS1 and below F . So carat was actually the third in priority since cut is automatically invalidated as we are already paying a premium in JP. my budget was actually 13k+ but 0.9+ range all left G or VS2. But yea solarferas seems to be the most popular of among the their signature cuts .

sorry dumb qn: i know can check GIA number but not too sure AGS . can any handsome help me take a look and comment if possible ? Really appreciate the help!

Hi all, i have made a trip down JP after reading the forum for awhile. I’ve gotten a few quotations from JP and would seek some opinions here.

SIC
0.54 E VS1 4200
0.57 D VS1 4950
0.61 G VS1 4900
0.62 G VS1 4950
0.63 G VVS1 5400

Which one of the above would you choose and more worth for value?

Thank in advance!

I was told by one of their staff that a jump from E to D typically cost 700 - 750.. so if 900, likely the amount comprise other factors like clarity (what impurities and where)

Could be wrong, just sharing info :)

Nope, $900 if too much for a colour upgrade, and since the diamond is from JP, all their clarity are considered safe to say it's eye-clean.

So like I said previously, it's not worth the upgrade because both the colour and size upgrade is negligible. 100% negligible.

If you are going for rose gold/gold, just drop the colour to F or G.

But 0.34 ct at 2.4k and 0.43 ct at 2.8k, both is really not super worth it, but since you confirmed, I rather you get the 0.43. Visible difference at small price increase imo.

Hello everyone!

I was considering the following SIC diamond rings from JP.

0.76 G VVS2
$7,700

0.77 F VS1
$7,800

0.83 G VS2
$8,550

0.82 G VVS2
$8,800

0.832 G VS1
$9,100

0.82 E VS1
$9,700

After much considerations, i made a deposit for the 0.77 F VS1.
Clarity characterisitics: Feather and cloud

My budget was set at $9,000 excluding the ring setting.

Attached are the scope images.

Would appreciate your advice if you would consider the other options instead.

Cheers!

here's your report.

Nice budget you have. Honestly, you can safely get G and VS2. Because of the sparkles, VS2 inclusions DEFINITELY cant be seen. Plus, JP make sure those inclusions are eye clean, so the more you confirm wont see it. You can get G if you setting is rose gold/gold, because you definitely cant see the colour, and it might actually be whiter than D colour (because D will reflect the gold colour). Even in white gold/Plat, G is save because round shaped diamonds are colourless on face, and G isnt THAT bad, no1 will be able to really spot the difference.

Is there big difference in the size of 0.54 and the rest? Base on my experience with other diamonds, I dont think so. If there is a difference, you can go for the 0.62. Otherwise, just go for the 0.54. Better colour, worth it.

10 oclock and 8 o clock arrows looks abit off. and centre part have black dotted contrast, not too desirable imo.

0.83 G VS2 looks like a good alternative. need see scope still

Just curious, for those that have been to JP recently has it been mentioned to you that their stock is fairly new?

I was there 2 saturdays ago and was told my diamond only arrived the week before. The date on the GIA cert also showed late Oct. Lol was i lucky or is there a chance that the diamond could have been recertified?

Many thanks for your input, cyk343! I will be making a trip down sometime this week and i will see the size difference then. For the clarity, is it worth it to top up extra $ for the VVS1?

Definitely not. The upgrade to a VVS1 is really not worth it. End of the day, it's still a "VS" clarity class. Unless you saying IF, where you can brag about getting a flawless diamond, then, MAYBE, it's worth it. But honestly, at this size, VS2 and above, plus JP screening, is most likely eye clean.

On the other hand, it's worth the $50 difference for the 0.01ct, but between 0.61 and 0.62, you focus should be more on your scope patterns to ensure which one seem more symmetrical to you. if you were to find the 0.61 more symmetrical, dont add $50 for the ct size.

But all in all, if there really isnt a difference in size, just go for 0.54

I think JP stocks are refreshed fairly frequently, but basing on GIA cert date is not necessarily accurate, because supplier can certify early, can bring to JP at a later date.

And I dont think anyone will send for re certification, as there will be more than 1 GIA code on the diamond, making it more suspicious.

Good point on the GIA code. :D I guess i was apprehensive because the SA said she would help get me the scopes within a day or two when so far (through this thread) people said it took a week. I was afraid it might be old stock. :O

Haha, the scope sometimes can be pretty fast, I guess it depends on whether they are busy or not. Mine took a few days too.
