The only problem then of course is if you can upgrade a current ring, even a 0.2 to 0.3C increase, you ‘might feel’ good, as it’s an exchange

But if you already have a 0.5C from another vendor for example and you decide to buy another, you really need a 0.5C increase for you to see or feel a sizeable upgrade between the 2 diamonds. f not, it just feels like you got 2 very similar diamonds

I think majority people wont 'upgrade' their proposal ring due to sentimental values and buying a 2nd ring to replace the ring also sounds weird.

personally i just bite the pain and went for 1.3+ and wont upgrade it for life, next time can probably customize diamond bracelet/earring/necklace instead of ring if feel like gifting diamonds

Yes you could do that.
But as KinoChoco said some will keep for sentimental reasons, so u can use original E-ring diamond and just get 2 smaller ones

Still a no-no for me, once the original ring is altered, it changes the original sentimental of the ring.

Aiya, actually dont need to buy diamonds also can, as long got money, i'm sure there are plenty of other stuff the wifey would prefer lol.

Anyway i also notice that majority of married women after giving birth, technically totally don't give a damn about diamonds anymore. (literally like 10 out of 10 i know, hardly anyone of them even look at the ring anymore lol)

For your budget, my vote is with KinoChoco too
Go with idealcut. No harm seeing what u will get.. but do note there’s often a slight price jump past 0.5C

Information is good as of 2months ago. Confirmed twice.

Haha, then probably they no longer set. If JP doesn't set, i'm pretty sure HOH dont too.

for 2.5 - 3k budget i'll suggest ideal cut tier from JP/HOH is enough...spend the rest of the money to up carat.

Personally feel that an ideal bigger size beats super ideal hands down if the carat is below 0.5.

The increased size will be more worth it than having a cut that's maybe only gonna shine 5-10% more based on your current budget

I would assume your budget is with ring, then aim for 3EXs, color and carat as the main. You can adjust the balance between color and carat based on your preference/Eye skill.

If budget is not with ring, can aim for SIC.

based on my readings, if you go for white gold ring, then E or F should be ideal

At under 0.5c, most people will not detect color in E,F and G
If you are color sensitive, u might pick up on H

Personally at under 0.5c, I would pick SI1 diamonds but that’s just me. The lowest clarity grade JP carries is VS2 upwards
