Anyone go down & purchase their wedding band after getting a proposal ring there?

Any special deal given? Are their band better (design/material) than what was offer outside?

Wedding band I love the inventory and quality of the varieties from Ling jewellery at 100AM Tras St 😍

I’ll still recommend JP as they provide free designs and 3D for bands with good pricing.

If u managed to find better pricing ones do check the band, many shops quote cheaper but does hollow band meaning to say, it might look the same on the surface but total weight of the white gold / alloy used on the band is lesser hence cheaper, it’s a gimmick that no shops will tell you. I’ve personally encountered this on few shops before that uses less alloy but without informing.

JP’s SIC are perfect, or even too perfect some may say. For your Budget I’ll suggest dropping to ideal cut from HOH (JP’s parent company) and drop to VS2, push up the carat, it will look better! :)

Hmm .. but as for the current price with the stated quality , Is it worth it for the price? But i guess i’m much like the cut from JP as for compared to HoH ideal cuts , In terms of the 8 black arrow line even if its not obvious for the ct i’m buying .. anyways JP diamonds price has been stable for the following years ?
Heard they had something like if you were to upgrade your gem to a bigger one , they do offer like trade in for the old diamonds that you buy from them ?

Yup the pricing are good, unless you wanna have a little bit more savings will be to go online route overseas and purchase SI clarify ones then it makes more sense, personally I’ll rather stick to local, unless you’re looking at over 10-15k worth of diamond then perhaps can consider online SI clarify route for more significant savings if one wish to.

The trade in thingie is kinda standard across many shops, bascially if it’s beyond 2 years (if I’m not wrong), you will need to pay for a re-certification fee first before proceeding to upgrade.

Such things are nice to have but u need to consider that:
- for plain setting, JP trade-in is $100 (lose $450)
- recertification of diamond after 2yrs is $300
So you already lose $750 of the purchase price of your 0.3ct.

Even if u trading up to 0.7ct, it’s almost 10% lost that u taking. Also rem that stones have very little resale value.

For HOH idealcuts, dun have the misconception that they are very inferior. U will confirm see 8 arrows. Some pple can’t even tell ideal and SIC apart.

Recert $300 meh? I remember i was told below 100 USD for smaller sized diamond, csnt remember much but definitely not anywhere near 300 unless they changed the policy during the past year

Info valid as of 3mths ago. Stone was above 0.5ct. Whether it’s cheaper for smaller stones ... perhaps.
But the cost charged by GIA is actually minimal. It’s the shipping and insurance that adds to it. If I’m not wrong, closest GIA office is in HK

Yeah I actually meant that I remember I was told of final fees of less than 200SGD for a over 1 CT diamond by JP themselves, couple years back tho. Somebody was quoted 300?

The chart earlier is for GIA report without clarity plots.
For 1.0 to 1.2ct the GIA report (with clarity plot) is already US$110.
I was implying that the GIA cost is fixed, I dun think it’s something JP can absorb. I guess prices do go up

Yes, SG$300 info from JP themselves 3mths ago.

Hmm i see , I guess thats the cost you have to pay upgrading few years after i guess , I kinda could see the difference between ideal cut and sic .. but not just that obvious but how much is the difference if its a ideal cut and SIC? About 200-300$ difference is it ?

I’m not sure the price difference but based on past guide, u should be able to get a 0.4ct ideal cut for a similar price

Hi everyone. I saw posts about iuiga offering a 1 carat diamond ring for $1799 (if with IGI cert is +$300). And they are selling up to 5 carat diamonds. Can be found on their website. Delivery in 40 days.

What do you guys think? Legit?

H color with max VG cut and optional certification by a lousy institution. You might as well buy a lab grown diamond.

I hope u read the fine print.
Color H-J (I dun think u get to choose)
Clarity VS-SI (no choice either)
Cut is not even excellent

Plus the IGI cert is not even a given. It’s an extra $300 and we know IGI is soft on grading

Thanks for the your thoughts. i did realize the description was very vague on what they were offering. and nothing said of the symmetry and polish etc etc. From the pricing already feels like a scam. lol.

As much as IGI is soft on grading, they are still certifying it’s an actual stone.

It’s hard to find a similar spec stone, but here’s some I found. Just look at the amt of weight in the girdle to make the 1ct mark
