This is the GIA no. (5323094121) of the stone I was referring to.

Mind help to take a look at it?

Even though it’s excellent cut, the stone is cut deep. I max my usage already buy u can try putting it into the HCA to check the score.
No one can assess a “very good” symmetry with just the cert

Hi folks.

I had picked out a 0.78 carat F VS1 Ideal Cut from HOH after balancing various considerations such as price, carat size, light performance (viewing in person), and the scope images. Cut, Polish and Symmetry were all Excellent, HCA Score is 0.9, and the price was SGD 6,750.

I have just received the scope images, and symmetry is actually a little off. I will admit that it was not that apparent seeing the diamond in practice, as this seemed to have excellent light performance. Without magnification, I don't know that it is that obvious in practice.

I am now wondering whether to search for an alternative diamond, or be content with this knowing that this level of asymmetry is insignificant.

Please can I get your feedback? Scope images are below.

Since u pointed out asymmetrical then I assumed u know where to look.
U are right, such issues are likely only on paper n hard to pick up with naked eyes. Personally so long as aset is great I can tolerate some asymmetry, which the ASET looks good in your case.

Do u have time to keep on looking? There are HOH ideals posted previously some with better scopes and some with more issues. Depends on whether u want to keep looking

Hi Miltah, the HCA Score is as below;

7ateWyB.jpg

The size is a new feature of HCA. As u can see, cos of the depth, your stone will be average as compared to a well cut ideal in terms of size which will usually be ‘big’

1.5 means it’s got potential n it’s got a nice 55% table. But again I can’t tell u anything about performance or symmetry other than that it could be good (but never great). So long as u can accept that, it’s got potential.

Hi for those who have purchased from JP, how accurate is their 3D render, especially the one that is superimposed on a picture of the hand?

So long as they get the finger size right, it should be pretty accurate.
The stone wouldn’t be that far out. There’s also online versions of it

Hi all, can someone help me look at this diamond please?
may I know how much is the estimated price for this diamond? I'm unsure if I'm overpaying for it...
Gia cert 2256117630
Is it true that hoh ideal cut diamonds will definitely have fluorescence?

It’s on the edge of ideal specs.
No idea of cut.

A bluenile 0.6-0.65 F VS clarity with strong blue fluorescent sells for sgd$2.1-2.8k (excluding gst).
A well cut stone might be worth abit more but the discount is on the strong blue

Thank you, Miltah. I got this at 4k+ from HOH and was advised by the lady that it is ideal cut and a value buy... Feel a little cheated now 😔😔

U shouldn’t feel cheated as I didn’t factor in cut. At HOH u are getting very good cuts. If u used any of the superideal online vendors with a similar cut as JP/HOH, the prices can be comparative
Assuming we used the bluenile at $2.8k after gst, it’s abt $3k.
There’s also no vetting by bluenile. I wouldn’t buy a strong blue without seeing it. But I’ve seen some very good blues at HOH.

You can check out Brian Gavin's Blue series that are Ideal cuts with strong blue fluorescence.

The nearest they have is a 0.62 E VS2 going for 3,870 sgd after factoring in the tax. Add the setting $500-600, it'll be in the 4.4k range. Your 0.63 F VS1 shld be abt that range too.

Is your price for the diamond only or with their setting?

Thank you both for your kind explanation. I already paid for it, just that it's sort of an impulse buy and I'm a noob when it comes to this. Yes, the price is with setting and they sold it to me off the rack.
