I looked through the scope. Like how neat and symmetrical the 0.52 one is to me. I'll either go with the 0.52 or 0.54 if I look at the scopes. maybe you would like to place the physical diamonds of the 3 side by side and then see which one is able to speak to you more and you like the best without looking at the specs since they are quite similar. All are sic so you don't have to worry. Once you have decided, you will have more excitement than the feeling of uncertainty you have felt previously. I'm sure your SO will like what you have bought for her. 💪🏼

Thanks Miltah! This is a Brellia so the depth is slightly deeper per JP.

However, the inclusions does seem excessive but I have been assured that the diamond was cleaned proper. I'm just concerned whether it's a bang for my buck @ $5.1k or whether I should wait for a new batch to come in?

Thank you so much for your insights!

I've compared all 3 side by side, and I can't tell the differences under my naked eye to be honest, hence I asked for scopes!

Only distinct difference is the 0.54 looks bigger than the 0.52 if compare it really closely.

Shifus, need some help deciding between these 2. I've been doing alot of reading this forum and other websites about the Lower Girdle Half (LGH). What I read is LGH is the thickness of the arrows that relates to the brightness and fire.

Thicker arrow is more fire. Thinner arrow is more brilliance (brightness?).
I'm stuck between these 2 diamonds,

0.60 F VS1 - 80% LGH
0.60 G VS1 - 75% LGH
I know the GIA cert rounds up/down the LGH by 5% so there's a possibility that its not that exact figure.

JP was nice enough to help me do a video for me. I think partly because I keep going down to compare and still cant decide :o

What I like about the 80% LGH is the brightness of it. The white reflection area is larger and the arrows are more ''clean cut?''. Though the 75% LGH will have better fire from the thicker arrows. Do normally ppl go more for the brightness or fire? I also notice that most of their diamonds are 75% LGH and very few in 80%. Does this mean that JP diamonds are more geared to fire?

This has something to do with the Brilliant VS Firey Ideal cuts. According to Gary Holloway, the creator of HCA, Brilliant Ideal cuts are more suited for jewellery accessories (necklace and earrings) and the Firey Ideal cuts are for diamond rings.

Higher LGH is more to the Brilliant side. You'll need to take into consideration the other proportions too.

Hello Diamond Experts,

I'm currently looking at a round diamond with the following specs:

1.41 Carat
Color G
Clarity IF
Depth 61.79%
Table 56.0%
Polish excellent
Symmetry excellent
Measurements7.22 x 7.18 x 4.45 mm

When I enter the specs into HCA, it doesn't give me a reading and says that the girdle is too thick. Can I ask how does this affect the look of the diamond?

Many Thanks!

What’s the crown n pavilion angle?

Does not affect but u losing money on the girdle, paying for caret weight without getting a better spread

Hi,

Been reading up the this thread and joining the discussion to seek opinion and sharing.

Was quoted the following from JP, SIC round cut:
0.72c F VVS2 $7.1K
0.76c E VVS1 $8.0K
0.80c F VVS2 $9.2K

The pricing looks fair compared to what has been shared and compiled in this forum. Amongst them which would represent better value? I am eyeing the 0.76c, thinking that the 900 top-up for 0.04c and 1 up in colour and clarity does represent good bang for my bucks, but the further 1.2K jump to 0.8c a tad difficult to justify. There appears to be limited stock for the 0.7c range and I was only shown these 3.

Out of my league but for sharing:
0.90c E VS1 $12.8K
0.92c D VS2 $12.7K

Cheers!

Is it?
U can get it at a similar price to your first 3 choices but in the 0.9c range if u willing to take G/H in Vs2 or SI1 clarity
I was told that JP only has G and VS2 at minimum, with this a 0.9+c will still set me back 10K at least?

Did u ask to see HOH stocks?
Are u comfortable with online or SI clarity?
I didn't request to see HOH collection, though during the lesson some samples from HOH were shown and they do look good too. However, my SO emphasis was on cut hence was looking at SIC from JP only. Size wise, looking at 0.7+c and hence the various diamonds listed for comparison; they do fit within my budget. I asked about the 0.9c for reference.

Not comfortable with online, and would prefer clarity to be eye clean.

Hi diamond experts, my bf bought the below diamond ring for me. We didnt have time to go JP to compare and just bought the ring at Love and Co.

Able to advice if we got a good buy? The salesperson told us this is ideal cut. Is this ideal cut?

$7800 excluding setting.
Carat: 0.71
Colour: F
Clarity: SI1
Cut: Ex
Symmetry: Ex
Fluorescence: none
Crown angle: 35 degree
Pavilion angle: 40.6 degree
Depth: 61.8%
Table: 57%
100% (not sure if this refers to diameter of diamond): 5.71mm
Culet: 0.2%
Girdle: 0.23mm

You can look back afew pages to the prices.
JP SIC 0.73 F VVS2 is $7.3k. For the Ideal cut 0.72 F VS2 is 5.4k.

Your diamond's proportions are good. Light performance will need the scopes. Your bf buy already no need to think so much. Not like you can change anything. Be happy and enjoy your ring! :)

Ohh. Means L&C is overpriced. ☹️
L&C says they dont have ASET scopes. They only provide me a Sarine Diamond Report where it states the light performance to be:
Brilliance: Exceptional (exceptional is 5/5 of rating)
Sparkle: Exceptional
Fire: Exceptional
Symmetry: Very high (very high is 4/5 of rating)

Not sure if anyone know if the light performance based on the stats given above is considered good? 😂

Though cant do anything about it since already bought liao but just curious about the light performance 😂

Thanks!

Sarine is a cheap and useless report, basically can treat as trash. Some retailer use it to ‘market’ their diamond only.

Hello Miltah and Kino and the rest of bros

Would you be able to share your expertise on this uneven circle. I am not sure what should I call that. Is this a concern??

It is very minor.
But since it’s a SIC, it’s up to u if u willing to accept and if not then continue searching

I hope u get a better deal on the setting.

Sarine has its place in manufacturing but less in retail. I dun think anyone can tell u light performance based on numbers
