Dear all,

I just bought a diamond ring from JP recently and paid a deposit of 1k.

Pls advise what is the protocol to settle the remaining amount as I was told to come down and make payment in full prior to collecting the ring (finished product). Thanks

I only had to pay the balance when I collect the ring.

If u look back on the thread, there’s pros and cons with JP vs online.

If u go with JP, u are looking at a 0.4 plus caret SIC or 0.5 plus caret, ideal cut

0.43 D VS1 $3050
0.43 E VVS2 $2900
0.58 G VS1 $3,250 (ideal)
0.56 G VVS2 $3,300 (ideal)
0.58 E VS2 $3,500 (ideal)
0.51 G VVS2 - $3,500

If u go online, with rose gold, u can safely go with H color. U are looking at 0.6c n above

There’s additional discount now with signature stones. Use code attached

Which prong shape do you guys think will go better? Gf wants a more square looking diamond. I'm leaning more to the triangle and single sharp prongs after looking at the renders. More to the triangle.

Pay by card when u collect the ring. No discount if pay by cash or cheque, thus may as well earn credit card points.

Hi guys, I'll be going down alone next week to get a diamond ring for my gf. May I know what's the thing I need to be sure of before going down? I know my budget is around 5k and I'm going for 0.5 carat ring. Should I ask my gf what shape she likes? What else should I ask her before heading down? Thank you very much

5k is more than enuff for 0.5ct. SIC will cost arnd 3.5-4k. You can try asking her what shape she likes but it might suss her out. A trick I used was to bring my gf around ''window shopping'', then casually walk into jewelry shop to see what shapes and designs she likes.

I like the middle one (single sharp prongs) the most. But if you want it to be more square, the triangle prongs one is the best.

Appreciate your reply! i called HOH and was quoted $3.8k for idealcut 0.58c, VS1, G and $3.45k for idealcut 0.55c, VS1, G - will be 4.35k and 4k respectively :(

i trust your recommendation - any chance i can get diamonds online that are as good if not better value than HOH? Can pls recommend me for immediate purchase?

Thanks again!

Take note, HOH Ideal cuts ≠Online Ideal cuts.
Most of the Ideal cuts I found online previously are HOH's standard of a triple exc. Many of the diamonds you see online are drop-ship goods. Give the GIA # to them, and they can quote you the price for the same diamond.

You sound rushed to make a purchase. I think you should do more homework before spending ur hard earned $$. This is not something you want to regret.

Hi all! Confirmed chope my diamond with JannPaul too!
I booked a SIC with them but now thinking maybe going for Octagon =p
Diamonds are really tip top and service I must say unbeatable. Can easily see how the top quality ones really shine. I can stare at the diamond all day if I could bring it home. haha

This is my scope images. It's my computer wallpaper now. lol

I was served by Sky very nice lad and was friendly and patient. He is like guiding a blur me through the whole session. We had actually stretched longer to about 3.5 hours as we talked more on the custom design.
I had a theme in mind and must say it wasn't easy to visualize....My line of work is in carpentry and I do simple designs myself.

Dovetail joints are used in carpentry for merging of 2 joints into a solid piece which provides strength while looking sleek. It also represents both parties conforming into the edges and curves in unison.

This is what they came up with so far and I really like the concept.
Aesthetically, I just wanted a simple ring. The connecting joints represents the carpentry work that I do. Some of the blocks are matted and glossy to create the contrast and wood element design. The Idea is to have these parts made individually, and combine it later to form the whole ring.

Bonus point which I must really say a big kudos to them! I might be able to try out my hand skills in the ring making. They suggested for me to "try" and mount the main diamond. All this is still in discussion to see if its possible. If can, it'll be soooooo cool. This will make it even more meaningful if I can be involved in the ring making process.

Congrats! You get to mount your diamond?? 😮
How does that work?? Did you have to pay extra for it?

Hi all! May I ask if it’s possible to get a HOH 1ct with a budget of 9 to 10k? I hav seen the list of prices Miltah collated so I know SIC is out of the budget haha was wondering if it’s possible for a HOH IC (considering HOH’s IC is still better than many triple exs and ideal cuts outside).

Possible.

HOH dun stock SI clarities but they have low colors like J and K

If u want higher color, the only option is online superideal vendors with vetted lower clarity such as SI1 and SI2

Appreciate a lot your info, prisleongsing!

i read that a few of the online vendors' diamonds are as good as if not better than HOH's IC, and was hoping to get a few link recommendations from the gurus here for consideration..:):)

Thanks! It's still in the talking stage. I'm waiting for the wax to be out to confirm the design first. The plan is to make the ring in parts and see which are the easy parts I can get involved in. No need to pay extra :D Jann was the one that suggested it knowing my carpentry work. They've been nothing short but amazing so far.

I saw this video online on couples crafting their wedding bands.. very cool too.

This one is JP's video of the ring mounting. I doubt I'll be doing the complicated parts but maybe the tightening or shaving? Going to get a friend to help me flim and use this in my proposal or wedding video :D
