Choped a 0.42 SIC G VVS1 at ~2700.

SO wanted it set in rose gold prongs cuz she wanted a rose gold ring. Will the prongs colour will make tat much of a diff? I see many in white gold. Appreciate your advice!:s22:

All these are JP SICs. They are the top of the top already. No need to worry about them.

I think prong color can affect it. I saw b4 some ppl plate the inner side of a rosegold prong white color. This will help with the color reflections.

Guys need some advice here.
Currently we choped a 0.42, G, VS2 SIC at $2600. Incl halo settings and all, total is $4000. My ring size is 46(6) so i assume a 0.42+halo doesnt look too small on me? (i hope??)
should i go for 0.5 but not SIC or stick to 0.42 SIC?

You can ask JP to superimpose your diamond ring on your hand to see. This was what they did for me last time.

The size also depends on your finger length too. Your finger size is v small and even so if your finger length is also small. Halo with a 0.4ct will give a big finger coverage.. especially if you plan to wear everyday.
JP does superimposes for free. You just need to send them a photo of your hand. Then you'll have a good idea of how the overall effect will look like. If too much coverage, it will look awkwardly big.

The band design plays a part too. This was the comparison they did for me.

I'd stick with the SIC if its from JP. The visual difference from 3-4 feet away is very noticeable under different lighting to capture attention.

I have a JannPaul diamond ring slightly over 0.5 carat (round brilliant, color G, VS2, excellent cut) - purchased price close to $6k .

As JannPaul's diamond has lifetime trade-in value (with some deductions), you can trade in my ring to get a new diamond of your choice.

However, newly purchased diamond has to be higher value than $3.6k. Guaranteed savings of up to $200 - $300+ (price negotiable for sincere buyers) which means you probably only pay $3.3 - $3.4k.

Willing to go down with you to the shop for GIA certificate verification and trade in at the shop.

Hmmm.. Diamond isn't that great imo. The girdles are big and small. There is painting and digging. For that quality and price, I don't think its that worth it... and rem to factor in the gst too.

Ahhh 😥 I see i see, thank you for your advice Brenda! Appreciate your reply 😊

Anyone getting one soon?

So many in the market don't know which to choose. GoldHeart and Lee Hwa is my choice now.

Budget around 1k

Hello, you might want to visit Jann Paul to look at their diamonds! I recently went and got my engagement ring there and was served by this veteran named Ranjit. Education, service, after service, everything was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. He is Super knowledgeable and did not hard push any big sized diamonds or fancy design. It’s really helping you understand which diamond and setting is the best choice for you given your expectations, budget etc. Also I want to add that Ranjit really went the extra mile to make you comfortable about your purchase and continue to provide impeccable after sales service (so you really don’t have to worry about the sales people not caring about you after you bought the ring). So happy with my ring and the service that was provided!

Went down to JP today for an appointment. After the thorough explanation eventually put a deposit for a round 0.55ct F VVS2 SIC at 4.3k excluding setting. Plugging in the dimensions into HCA tool returns a score of 0.9.

Quite pleased with how it looks on the dummy setting, but wondering if I got a good price on the stone?

It’s been a few months but I have been busy..

Introducing my latest upgrade
https://youtu.be/wo2NODGmVZ4

This is just a video of the diamond but set on a ring it has been getting LOTS of compliments from everyone.
I have been married for 7 years and this is my second upgrade. Before this one, my previous e-ring was double the size of my original ring (AND I went from a standard triple excellent to a super ideal cut). Yet only 1 or 2 friends made a comment so I was not expecting to get so many questions or compliments from my friends this time (since it’s a small upgrade only)

Surprisingly, this one is such an attention grabber. Friends sitting across me would say they got blinded by all the sparkles, asking about the size (and they always guess a larger carat size than it actually is), curious about the price range, and one even went further as to touching it because she was mesmerized by the sparkle. Again, it’s so surprising since none of them ever did so with my previous e-rings.

2.5ct!!!! :flash: :flash: :flash:
The Super ideal cuts really stand out and makes all the difference. You have a photo of your diamond ring on your hand? Very curious how a 2.5ct will look on a finger.

HCA is only a filter tool to check basic proportions. The scopes is a better indicator for the quality. Though yours is from JP SIC so you should be fine. The price is abt there if you scroll back to check past prices.

Ah yes looks about there. I was slightly concerned initially as very new to diamonds and my knowledge is essentially just what I heard from JP + a few articles online. The scopes look fine at least from my layman vision. Thanks for confirming.
