ya i understand the drop to the next lower value range part

but u urself got a 0.5, why so?

I didn't get a 0.50ct flat. The Decagon I got was a pre-order. So they gave me an estimated range 0.51-0.55ct E-F VVS2-VS1 to custom cut out. If you dont need the ring so soon, you can consider their white series cuts. If not, they got the ready made SICs too.

oh u meant in ur earlier post u got a 0.5x range? cuz u jus say 0.5 :s13:

so in terms of cut quality: white series > decagon > SIC > and so on?

Ya, they're custom cutting me a 0.5x+ range. They themselves don't sell those flat sizes as they said it's not worth investing in them.

The cut quality should be: white series > SIC > and so on.
White series is their new improved cuts that consists of decagon and another higher facet round shape. I saw on their insta they just added an oval shape hearts and arrows recently.

I've been told there's a wait time and I told my htb I dont mind waiting. I really really really want this. Anyone by any chance have indicative prices?
Am I wishing abit too much if it's 50-60% more than their SIC line? I work on front line so I dont really have time to go down, ,but my sister went to see 2 weeks back for awhile and said its nicer IRL than on the video even.

Thanks everyone who contributed to the thread it has been a very useful read. if anyone has indicative prices on the decagon do let me know much thanks!

The decagon is not that much la. Its about 5-10% more than the SIC. You drop 1 color or clarity grade down, can get the decagon already. Summore the decagon looks whiter. No need to go for such a high color. What budget/size you looking at? My decagon 0.5ct is 4k+. From what I know, all the decagons are only available pre-orders for now.

I would stay far far away from IGI. The gradings aren’t accurate. I mean if you’re buying just the sake of getting a 1ct Diamond, you can go ahead. But I won’t expect it to look good.

Are u sure u die die want a 1 carat of such quality? To be honest, people would be laughing at such a diamond instead of admiring it if your intention of 1 carat is to impress..

This is definitely not a JP diamond right??
There's alot of issues bro.

The crown and pavilion are all over the place and misaligned.
The girdles are painted and dugged. Can see some are at uneven heights and skewed. I see one of the girdle tips on the right almost fused up already which shouldn't be the case.
Some of the arrows are shifted out of direction and pushing the other facets out of place. The hearts is giving it away also.. not very symmetrical.
You can start seeing the leakages already under the table when this happens.

If u havent buy yet, then I suggest trying to look for a better one. If bought already, then no point asking. It'll just give you buyer's remorse.

I bought her down to the store to take a look (on the pretense of browsing). And her not being diamond educated thinks it is nice and was happy with the intention of having a 1 carat. But me having the knowledge knows it is not a good one. So i am conflicted..

You do realised people on this thread are perfectionist in terms of cuts(hint look at their post history:p). I think this looks very good already in my standard and i will buy in a heart beat if it is a fair price, but what do i know? Sometimes light performance only improves by the slightest bit if you go from a lightly imperfect cutting to a very perfect one, and price difference is a lot. Most people won't give a hoot more as long as it sparkles alright unless your future wife likes to brag. If your future wife prefer spending on a more tangible things, then all the more you know whats the decision.
I prefer to throw money in my upcoming home reno or whatnot then in a almost non-visible performance.

This is a lab grown FYI. I hope SK disclosed this to you.
For a labgrown, the price is expensive. Debeers is selling 1ct lab growns for 800 USD now and the prices is expected to drop much further.

These are the ones they’ve released so far. I’ve seen all 3 when I went back to them for my wedding bands, all pretty crazy. The big surprise was the oval. It’s cheaper than the SIC round but the performance is way more fiery and whiter cause they use oval rough. Its worth to have a look. But better make an appointment in advance. They only got 1 prototype of each and there were alot of other ppl waiting to see it too.
