ASET looks fairly ok. The arrows are shifted and the star facets and girdles not very symmetrical. But it might be due to how the photo is taken. The hearts and arrows scopes might be able to reveal more on this if you have the pics. It'll be good to tally the scopes with its proportions too.
thank for advice.

For engagement ring setting - diamond, which metal (18k white gold or platinum) is better if no budget concern?

Since jp can do the decagon cuts. Has anyone done or tried asking if they will do it on other stones? Like alexandrite or moissanite?

how does jp decagon compare against their new round 10 h&a?

Someone asked the same on their insta. Decagon performs better than the round 10.

Just wondering, after you pick a diamond at JP, how does the ring design process go?

They will do a 3d design of the ring and then a wax model of it before you approve the design. The custom design process will take slightly longer around 6 weeks to make everything.

Does anyone know if JannPaul offers lab grown diamonds too?
And like how long do you need to wait for the ring to be ready?
I check another custom retailers, it can take like 3 months.

Michael Trio. If you see their website, the shipping date is around Jan 2021 for now. If they have the stock in shop, it can be shorter of course.
Michael Trio offers wide range of selection, from natural to lab grown diamonds.

Want to ask the folks here too, what's your opinion about lab grown diamonds?
I've read that the resale value is low, but generally people won't sell their engagement rings, right?
It's quite tempting since lab grown is still diamonds and yet the price is cheaper. You can get much higher carat for lab grown compared to natural with the same price.

The white series cushion and oval is cheaper than the SIC round (forgot by how much) and White series round and decagon is 5-10% more.

They explained the decagon pricing at the 35:19 mark

That was very insightful, Jannpaul really pushing limits in the diamond industry eh, plus from sinkies. The American pricescope vendors falling behind

I had the same question before. Same properties but I think it’s more of the perception that your lady might want to own one naturally mined diamond once in her lifetime.

Definitely because it is still in the 0.7ct range. Once it hit another flat carat value (ie;from 0.79ct to 0.8ct range), the price will shoot up around 10-20% more for the same specs

@ 0.79 E VVS1 for $8.5k, it really is a good price to catch!

That's for their white series right? I think if you custom cut it, they can only give range. It's only if heng heng the diamond's grade go above the range, you will be pleasantly surprised and benefit from the maintained price :s13:

$8.5k for white series 0.79 E VVS1 is very worth it le. I recall their SIC 0.8ct G VS cost is already $8k+. Summore this is the white series and higher specs. Maybe cos its still in the 0.7ct ++ range.

Hi guys, I'm torn between 2 diamonds, need some advice.

Diamond 1: 0.5ct, Very good cut, D colour, VVS1, $2500
Diamond 2: 0.51ct, Excellent cut, D colour, VS1, $2600

Which will you pick? Prices are for loose diamonds though haha.

there are not enough information to decide between these 2.

there are alot more to it. like fluorescence, whether got hearts and arrows anot, what kind of inclusions, the balance dimensions of the cut for Fire, Scintillation and Spread, etc.

Gary Holloway(HCA) endorses and approves of JannPaul only in asia iirc in a pricescope post . Most of the American innovators are already very old man.

Man.. really glad I read this thread. I checked out their white series line diamonds they are really on a whole different level. Been studying the aset on and off and searching around, dropped down few days back and I don’t even need to see the aset they’re visually all so much more beautiful than all the jewellers I’ve been to on spot. There’s 4 cuts at the moment, I’m torn between which. I only know she likes the new designs they have on Instagram, oval suits lengthy fingers better?

Pick 2 of your most preferred cut then narrow down from there. I think ovals suit long fingers better because of the ratio proportion to the finger length. And if you have a budget and want bigger size, the oval white series is cheaper than the SIC too. Personally, I would prefer the octagon for the 8 sides. It looks good on long fingers too.

Just placed my order on white series decagon.

I must say that Jannpaul really live up to its standard as what everyone says. So glad that I am reading and following this thread closely for the past year before making my decision to purchase my engagement ring with them.

Here's contributing back to all the bro and sis who has been feeding me knowledge and insights to engagement ring with Jannpaul.

Ct: 0.66-069
Colour: E-F
Clarity: VVS2-VS1
Price: $6.5k to $7.2k

Will share more details once the ring is ready for collection in 3-4months~
