Hi guys,

As I'm reading through some of the posts here, notice that many have mentioned JannPaul and seem to have a good experience with it.

On their site, they mentioned that a 1c-1.05c lab grown diamond costs about 2.7k usd, just wondering with the inclusion of the ring itself, how much additional am I looking at?

Huge headache trying to think of what to get for my girlfriend for my planned proposal. But would like to have an estimate of the price before reaching out to JannPaul for any consultation.

Regards,

If i remember correctly, its SG$600 for gold and all its variants, and $1k or $1.2k for platinum

Do you mean the green spots on the ASET? Seems normal to me. The ASET on the cert is a computer generated image. So it might not be v accurate anyway. The actual ASET scope or video of the diamond is more useful.

Hi guys, appreciate if anyone can share if this Decagon is worth getting and if there is any quality issue 🤔 We were quoted $8,800 for this 0.76 carat. Is this a good buy? Thanks in advance.

The Decagon is their White Series cut. There won't be any issues with it. The only quality ''issue'' is whether you want a higher color than F. Your VVS1 clarity is already very high. Their white series cut already looks whiter and brighter than the other cuts of the same color. So I think you don't really need to go for such a high color anyway.

May I know when did you see this diamond? They had very few decagon pieces left when I was there. The White Series Round was all sold out in the 0.7cts and have to custom order.

That’s a nice decagon! We got offer a 0.73 carat G VVS1 for $8.15k so I think the price range is about there and like what tummybubbletea mentioned whether you want to save by going down on the color.

And you see the actual ring done in different lighting. The diamond is so bright and firey, it's gonna be hard to tell the color.

Diamond experts here please help me out?

I'm considering between these 2 options - more keen on a bigger diamond but not sure if the 0.8c specs is worth the quoted price e.g is this a deep or shallow cut?.

1. GIA 6412900495 (0.81c)
(quoted 8.2k)

2. GIA 2427986768 (0.7c)
(quoted 6.5k)

Also, any thoughts on Michael trio diamond quality? the diamond listed on their website seems affordable

Comparing Michael trio
3. 0.81c (7.3k)
0.81 Carat F-VS2 Excellent Ideal Diamond
Depth 62.3
Table 56
Measurement 5.93-5.95x3.70mm

Having a dilemma which is better...?

First choice 0.81, has small star facet and steep crown. Not very ideal.

Second choice 0.71, has better proportions. You will need the ASET to determine the light performance. This is a D color, and it will make no sense to get the best color if the light performance is no good. It will totally negate the point of getting a good color. Without the ASET, it’s almost buying blindly.

Third choice 0.81, is a steep deep. But can’t tell much with little info. Micheal trio is a drop shipper btw. They aren’t exactly known for quality.

Thank you for the reply!

Sorry, as we were given a few choices that fits our budget (around $7k to $8k for diamonds). Could you give me some tips on which should be shortlisted or ideal?

I'm also currently waiting for JP appointment, I suppose the quality of diamond there will be much better but with my budget will only be able to get 0.7c diamond? Just wondering if comparing a sub-par 0.8c vs high quality 0.7c diamond, will it be a wiser choice to choose 0.7c which might make the diamond appear bigger and brighter?

May I also know what is the industry standard abt taking photos of GIA report no. in the shop? We went to one of the retailers and they do not allow us to take down the GIA report number.

0.7C
1. GIA 7353845502 (6.1k)
2. GIA 2427986768 (6.5k)

4. GIA 1435258745 (7.9k)
5. GIA 2436651676 (8.9k)

There’s alot of points and factors to consider. It’s hard to type it all out here. Some can be found online. I suggest attending JP’s appt first then restarting your search list. They give a good education summary on diamonds and very transparent on things to avoid.
Quality over quantity for me. It’s wiser to sacrifice more on the color/clarity than on the Cut. Cut will have the biggest visual impact.

Its perfectly normal to take down the GIA number of the diamond. If the shop doesn’t let you, it’s a big red flag!

That's the white series round 10 hearts/arrows. D VVS2 is a very high spec already. Though can consider actually going for a lower color since their white series already has a high brightness to make it look whiter.

Thanks for your reply :) I’ve asked for higher color but the problem is they do not have stock. Need to pre order and it will take 3 to 4 months. I went there on 23rd June. The first decagon they offered me was 0.74E VVS2 $8,700. So I decided to go for a new stock which is 0.760 since it’s $100 difference.
