Anybody seen the range of D to G of similar white series diamonds? Can you guys tell the difference with naked eyes?

Top view from the diamond front I couldn't see any color difference for the white series. Only when I see from behind, I can tell the difference in the E and G. Though the different is very slight and not very noticeable. Like you need to stare at it for awhile to tell kind.

The white series has a better light return than the SIC. So its meant to look whiter anyway and can also save on the color grade.

Nice! Mine is a 0.5ct. I got my ring but haven't proposed yet. The excitement is killing me. It's so hard to just keep the ring in drawer and not say anything. Planning to propose in April on our anniversary.

Hi everyone,

Newbie here and my first post in HWZ.
Thanks all for sharing the info, comments and photos - Lucky that I found this topic.
I have been looking at JamesAllen since August last year, and almost bought (twice) but decided to hold on for few months.
Looking through v3 to v4, looks like many are satisfied with Decagon. I am planning to make appointment with them.
My budget is SGD4k max include ring - hopefully will get something good.
Will update again.

Good thing you hold. You will learn alot more about diamonds with JP. After you have the knowledge, you won't be able to bring yourself to buy on JA anymore :s13:
Besides the Decagon, their other white series are quite popular too. There's the oval, cushion and rounds. See how special you want your diamond to be and what design you want also.

thanks , whats SIC ? now i need to decide the design of the ring itself or just go with the traditional style

SIC = Super Ideal Cut
There's the traditional 57 faceted round diamonds. The Decagon is 111 facets which surpasses the SIC. See the diff here

I think its more important to determine if she likes those plain setting (no side diamonds) or with side diamonds. Then from there you explore further. Even for the traditional plain styles, you can still design the ring to be different. JP gives free ring customization service anyway :)

Solitaires are so boring! Definitely ask JP to present you with options. My girl friends who had solitaires have all gone back to upgrade the design.

Not sure if these are considered solitaires. The top side is plain so when you wear the ring and see from the top view, it will still look like a solitaire. But from the side view, there are small diamonds.

This is a similar design from the side but imagine it without the small diamonds on the upper band.

This is beautiful! To me solitaires are just the one stone... everybody has them and they have no character. Ring design must show thought and effort!

FYI for all bros out there, JP only allows payment plans on select cards - DBS, POSB, UOB, SCB.

No Citibank, or Amex (Amex only for platinum cc and platinum charge) so the normal ones like krisflyer ascend etc. cannot.

So you need to factor this in when you are ready to pay in case you want to cc points / miles instead of paying in cash and not getting cc rewards!

Proposed to my gf liao :D Sharing my ring pics!
Special thanks to Avery for being very patient with us. There were just too many choices and all their White Series cuts have their own unique points. We changed our deposit afew times and chose their White Series Round 10. We visited their store 6 times in total to discuss about our diamond and design. Throughout the whole process, Avery was very accommodating and giving us good advice. She was even replying our whatsapp msges at 3am.. Didn't expect this at all, but am amazed by her dedication.

My diamond is a 1.05 G VVS2 White Series Round 10. It's a custom cut order that was suppose to be a F-G, VS1-VS2. The clarity turned out higher than expected so we got a free clarity upgrade =:p If you can wait to custom cut your diamond, it's worth the wait.

Our initial concern was the rose gold crown head. Cos we read that rosegold rings can affect the diamond color. My gf wanted some rose gold elements, while keeping the base white. Avery assured us that the rose gold crown has been done before on other white series cut and it was fine. Their white series light return is much higher than even the SICs. So it won't see through the diamond to the rose gold.

Here's a pic from the front. Diamond still look very white :) In fact, some of her friend's even thought it was a ''D'' Color. Glad we followed Avery's suggestions.

This is with some morning sun shining on the diamond. Can see the sparkles of the diamond reflecting on the table. I think because the diamond is so bright and sparkly, it makes it look bigger than expected. I've seen my other friends 1ct rings before but don't rem them looking this big. Or maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see :s13:
