Just returned from Hatten stay.
As others mentioned, hotel is old now and in need of some touchup.
The lights are yellowish dim.
Rooms do not provide floor mat and face towel. Phone is also not working. We feedback to counter and they provide the fixes.
Breakfast is very ordinary intercontinental spread. i think we paid additional 20 SGD upon booking the room for it. I would NOT recommend it.

Located near Hatten hotel are few malls but all are very quiet and not all shops are opened.

A lot of claw machines in Pahlawan though, for those interested. :ROFLMAO:

Location quite ok but maybe lesser food choice as compare to Hatten side.
Hotel review seem fine.
Can use google map to walk around and see the location if you like it or not. I always do this :giggle:

Swiss Garden also has its own "infinity" pool and children pool~ my stay at Swiss Garden is ok, bed is comfy, can watch SG channels, got bath tub while The Shore is like condo studio apartment~

any hotel reccomendstions besides hatten?
i stayed at Ibis, not bad. Quite cheap, place is clean, their housekeeping damn fast. Called to fix the TV remote and like 10 mins later they appeared. The cons is that it's not near the Dataran area , it's quite near 1 end of Jonker though, so you'll need to take Grab to the malls.

I recommend a stroll along the Malacca River at least once between the Pines and Jonker Street, taking in the narrow lanes and traditional crafts shops along the way, especially on the right bank. There are pedestrian walkways that line both sides of the river. Kampung Morten is a heritage kampung overlooked by the hotel that can be reached by a footbridge before the Swiss Garden.

Now I realized one reason why I could stay in Melaka for up to 5 or 7 days. Walk!

I did a lot of walking while I explored, thus needed more time, I guess. Best way to explore Melaka. 🤣

When I was staying at Casa del Rio, especially. Walked as far as Jalan Gajang Barang under the hot sun, along the roadsides. Mostly after breakfast at the hotel. Walked all the way to Church of St Peter's, then from there to Swiss Garden, then back to hotel to drop the shopping bags or any loads, then off via Dataran Pahlawan to Mahkota Parade. The area around Kampung Hulu Mosque used to have a few value shops but most if not all are gone already. Latest as walking from Double Tree by Hilton to Hatten, after breakfast. 🤣

I hit a few weeks of walking quota in Singapore just over a weekend in Melaka. :ROFLMAO:
