I am not looking for train to Melaka. Only train to KL. But nvm. We will book luxury coach. Seems faster too. Thanks a lot
The train station for Malacca to KL is also at Tampin.
Yes, take the coach to save a little time and also benefit from more departures. I recall there are only 2 ETS and maybe 4 -5 Komuter services (3+ hours) plying the Tampin-KL Sentral route.

Note that TBS is about 10Km to the south of Kuala Lumpur city centre. To get to the city centre, use one of these options:
1. KLIA Ekspres high-speed train (the non-stop airport metro line) to KL Sentral. 15 to 20 minutes interval.
2. KTMB's ETS trains. There are only 4 services a day running at fixed schedules from Bandar Tasik Selatan Railway Station (just beside TBS) to KL Sentral or Kuala Lumpur Station. These are northbound trains from Gemas to Butterworth or Padang Besar (on the Thailand-Malaysia border).
3. KTMB's older Komuter trains will also service between Bandar Tasik Selatan Railway Station and KL Sentral/Kuala Lumpur Station but at hourly interval.
4. Rapid KL's LRT networks covering Kuala Lumpur. Get to Bandar Tasik Selatan LRT Station (beside the railway station) and use the monorail to get to your destination. Changing of monorails may be required.
(The LRT station @ TBS is known as Bandar Tasik Selatan (SP15 Station).

I take LRT to Chinatown (Jalan Petaling).
Good info! (y)

I wasn't exactly a KL city type of person (still not), so back then I didn't think much and just went to the nearest taxi stand. Needless to say, high possibility of kena carrot-headed but well, I just wanted to chop-chop with the errand and get on back to Melaka. 😅

Thanks a million. Just hope I don't get frightened on the coach.
I used to not like coach nor train rides, up to a point that I'd refuse to visit anywhere further than Melaka unless I got to fly. I just found it too boring.

It's only over the past half-decade that I got to travel with organized groups in coaches, that I learned to enjoy the sceneries and look out for places with possibilities of a visit on later trips. And these days too, there's the cyberspace with iPads iPhones to turn my attention to. When too sleepy, just zzz. 😄

If you talking about sea-sick, just take the medicine when you board. My wife got sea-sick issue, the journey went out very smooth for her.
Not sea sick. I never get sea sick. But I have a phobia of coach after witnessing accident.

Hi. You know luxury coach to Melaka or KL, they will stop outside a hotel for eg Hatten in Melaka or Concorde in KL. But we can stay in other hotels we like just that we have to alight and board at that specific hotel we have chosen right.

Shouldn't be an issue. Before hitting Melaka, the guide will go round confirming the hotel of choice that you'll be alighting, and where you want to be picked up later.

Just make sure you inform/confirm with the guide in advance, and try not to change after that coz he/she'd have made a record to be followed up by the guide who'd be picking you up for the return journey.

But yes, can stay in whichever hotel you like, not necessarily the alighting or pick-up points.

I choose Hatten, since the coach stop in front of the hotel, save the trouble to move luggage again.
If you choose other hotel, check the map so that you can inform the guide where you are alighting. If one way trip like mine, just inform the guide will do.

Just want to check, are you able to alight or board at any hotel you have chosen, in the case of Luxury Coach? I have the impression that their pickup or alighting points are confined to only these 4 in the case of Malacca: Swiss Garden, Casa Del Rio, Equatorial and The Straits Hotel.

Yes. Only these 4. So I mean if I choose other hotels, I just have to alight and board at one of the 4 I have selected. Of course convenience wise, just choose one of the 4. If I choose others, I will at least ensure not a long walk.

Not any hotels, but hotels that are along their route. Casa del Rio, Hatten, Swiss Garden, The Straits, Double Tree. The guide will advise which hotel you can alight that's nearest to yours, if you're not staying at any of these 5.

I finally talked my wife into going Melaka again.

I hope the foods that my wife and I liked pre-COVID are still around.

Any idea whether Hatten is still ok to stay? Will be driving.

Hatten hit and miss, see your luck. I've been twice since borders reopened. First trip was good, room was clean. Second trip it doesn't look like they cleaned the bathroom before I checked in and during my stay there.

They have a supply issue with towels. It will eventually reach you but later in the evening.

If driving, Hatten is a good place to stay since easy to park, conveneint location and as safe as Melaka can be.

It's time for Hatten to do major renovations to their rooms, even if it means shutting the whole building or a few floors at a time. Quite unfortunate they failed to tap on the quieter post-MCO period to renovate.

I think for my next trip to Melaka, I will take coach and leave the car at home, I want to stay in the boutique hotels along Jonker.

Melaka is facing manpower crunch. Have been to 2 hotels since post covid and you gotta pity the cleaners and service staff who are overloaded.

Decided to stay airbnb on the latest trip since I don’t need the rooms to be cleaned for the 3D2N

Even pre-COVID, the rooms were also hit and miss as well.

I've had well-maintained rooms, and also rooms that had curtain rods that were damaged (cannot close the curtain properly, so when the sun rose, the room became very bright as well) and shower head problems.

They really need to revamp. :o

The manpower crunch made it worse, can see from other states and sectors as well. Even food variety that used to have different flavors are down to only 1 or 2 types.

Just booked Hatten Hotel for a short family trip at the end of the month!

Anyone whom has been there has any recommendations to eat?

Last time my wife and I would go to Tong Sheng for the cheese bee hoon, Sun May Hiong for the pork satay, the Indian restaurant selling Naan (forgot the name) that was near Sun May Hiong as well, and the Hoe Kee Chicken Rice Ball.

Are these still available there now? If not, gotta Google new eating spots. :ROFLMAO:
