Hello,

Anyone have a good recommendation of AirBNB at Malacca with good security, as we are thinking of driving up with the kiddos for the June hols ?
I booked airbnb in Imperio Residence before, got a few units with jacuzzi. Security ok only. Near to Doubletree hotel.

Anyone taken the Causeway Link bus from Harbourfront to Malacca Sentral?

Any advice?

I think nothing beats Hatten (and Estadia since they share the same building) with the connectivity to the 2 malls.

Based on Google Maps, I see another one named The Explorer Hotel Melaka that is quite good location. Even nearer to Jonker. This one is right beside Mahkota Parade and directly opposite Dataran Pahlawan. Not sure how good is this hotel though.
Estadia hotel much cheaper but no swimming pool

Is it easy book grab to move around Malacca to go to some of those tourists spots?

Intend to stay in Hatten and looking to go places like Portuguese settlement which is out of town.

Both places aren't exactly very far from each other. Shouldn't be a problem.

Hatten to Portuguese settlement ok lah, not very far.
I been there, nothing as a attraction but got many seafood stalls there.

Grab around no problem. Need to wait 8-10mins.

Touristy spots are ok with grab when they are around or near the city centre.

Problem starts when you go further outskirts and getting grab will become more difficult.

My family took a Grab out to The Huskitory and when we wanted leave, found it very hard to get a Grab back. There were very few available vehicles around. We even moved around to see whether we would have better luck.

All in all, I think we waited more than half an hour before a vehicle reached us to send us back to the hotel.

Could see the Settlement from DoubleTree @ Hilton Hotel while we're staying there, from its right as well as back. So I'd say they're about next to each other.

Have walked once from DT@Hilton after breakfast, to Hatten. Grabbed from Dataran Pahlawan that's across from Hatten to DT@Hilton back then, fare was as low as RM5.

Near lah.

Normally visited the Portuguese Settlement for lunch or early dinner and walked around the place, as we're acquainted with some of the residents there including the restaurant we frequented (can't remember the name, so don't ask me coz I only knew how to walk there  ). And oh, when there's a festival during our Melaka stay.

I've only had lunch once, at the 2nd stall nearest the carpark. Friendly lady, with relatives in Jurong side.

Thereafter no longer visited that row. During festivals lagi best, when they'd stalls set up by the residents too.

I see, unlikely to venture out of the main town, if there are elders coming along.

I just want to check if grab is easy to book in town area as some elders might have difficulties walking a distance which usually no problem for younger ones

Thinking of go there for dinner and wonder if grab is easy to book, since it's away from town area IIRC.
