It depend how you spend and what you buy right? You do your sums yourself based on est how much you willing to spend on each meal and how much is the meal which you intend to take lor.

We stayed at Casa Del Rio in Malacca back in 2012. It was not bad, but that not cheap either. Just a short family getaway.

I believe that panorama bus stops somewhere near the Dutch Square, which is near Jonker Street.

If I'm not wrong, it (or is there another similar bus?) loops to the other end of Jonker Street, stopping somewhere across the road from the Indian church.

It's too far to walk, especially with bags in hand. Cab fare around RM20, max RM25.

I've never used a taxi app so far, so not sure how they charge. But in JB, have called for a cab and it's metered fare + RM2, which turned out to be mostly cheaper than flagging a non-metered one on the streets.

The Melaka Sentral > Jonker fare that I mentioned are those quoted by the drivers at the taxi stand there. Similarly, it should also be metered fare if you call for one, and if I'm not wrong, on-call charge is similar. (Cabs called for me by hotel were metered, and it's the same when I called with a number taken from one of these drivers.)

My question is, how to get to larkin bus terminal if i am taking bus to the woodlands causeway then to city square.

Take bus 170 from Kranji MRT to Woodlands Custom checkpoint.

After clear Singapore custom, board bus 170 or CW-1 to Malaysia checkpoint.

After clear Malaysia custom, head down the escalator and take either bus 170 or CW1 to Larkin.

went up to Malacca over the Good Friday weekend. drove there. it was a 7-hour drive due to the jam and heavy traffic on NSH.

Stayed at Hatten. Complimentary upgrade to a better room on Level 21. did not use the swimming pool as it was always crowded and my 17-month old does not like other kids splashing water on him. so we walked around more.

directly connected to Dataran Pahlawan. cross the road to Mahkota Parade. walk another 10 mins to Jonker Walk.

had a trishaw ride on the last evening. guy was sweating it around carrying me, my wife and toddler.

there is a bus terminal below Hatten Hotel. definitely sure there are some bus companies that stop directly at Hatten instead of at Melaka Sentral so this might be a good option for some. one of the Singapore-registered coaches I saw was by Superior Coach. relatively new MAN coach. reached Hatten Hotel around 2pm.

Unless your kids are of school-going age, best to go during non-holidays coz people from here as well as other parts of Malaysia tend to head there as well.

Did you see the chicken rice queue at one end of Jonker? Many say if you throw a pebble, sure to hit a Singaporean.

A few coach companies call at Hatten Hotel too, like 707 and Konsortium, and maybe more - can check with online booking sites. Easybook, Busonline...
