I have a digi card which given to me from a colleague how to use it for data plan? How much is the digi plan? I want to go malacca and find good food and a fling.:o

Put the SIM card into a phone and check the following:

How much credit balance is in the card.
When is the expiry date or has it gone under its grace period already.
What type of prepaid plan is it, and which version.

THEN, you can check how you can use it for data package subscription.

Anyone tried driving to malacca at midnight and checking into the hotel at 2am? Is the highway safe to drive at night?

Safe. A lot less traffic, but this also means that some people drive dreadfully fast. Like express bus drivers. See that you do not fall asleep. Are you used to driving on roads where there is no other lighting?

if you are used to driving at night is ok, as during the night time, there is no street lamp along the highway (unless you reach some toll exit), only some reflector along the highway.
yup, the highway will be as smooth as breeze. just becareful not to fall asleep

to me, it is dangerous to drive at night. Especially on a highway when u are travelling fast. Cos some large buses and trucks have non-functioning tailights and by the time u see them, u are too close and have to either brake hard or change lane quickly.

u cannot spot potholes as well, which if you are unlucky enough, it may damage your tires. driving just when the sun is coming up, 6.30am to 9am timing is the best for first timers.

I've heard of a Peranakan restaurant in the area being mentioned before, and someone mentioning a couple more popular places, but don't have the names offhand.

Worth just taking a stroll down the road/lanes around to explore.

The Hatten is adjacent to the Melaka Raya area which has several. Out the hotel's main door, turn to your right, and you will see the sign at the middle of the road that says "Melaka Raya". Continue along the same road, not 3 min away, you will encounter the first one. More near the junction with the Starbucks. Don't know about the quality though.

Is it easy to drive to malacca? I am thinking if we should rent a car and drive in? :o

I think quite easy. Take the NSH and exit ayer keroh. You need to get a Touch and Go card for highway usage payment. We do not rely on GPS but based on google map. I printed out the map and all the junction that need to turn.

I know after exiting Ayer Keroh, we will pass by malacca zoo, a hospital and etc.

For first timer, I suggest you tag behind your friend's car.

Enjoy your trip.

Now Malaysia can use Google map without data. Just type "OK map" to save the place you want. No need to print :)

i prefer Maco rather than Ole Sayang, just a personal preference..

Very possibly Ole Sayang that I saw across the road, as I was walking along Jalan Merdeka on the side of Imperial Heritage so must have overlooked Restoran Nyonya Makko as I strolled right in front of it. :D
