ODD: ASUS 24X DVD-RW SATA
PSU: SUPER FLOWER HX600 600W (This is semi modular or fully modular?)
CASE: CORSAIR CARBIDE SERIES 330R QUIET MID-TOWER CASE / FRACTAL DESIGN R4 TITIANIUM WINDOW - depends on budget
CPU Cooler: NOCTUA NH-D14
OS: Not required

Can help to evaluate if the above will exceed $1.7k?

Does this specification good enough for gaming and moderate photo editing?

Still dont get you why you still pair a z87 mobo with a non oc chip. And not gonna sli in future.

I just want to utilize the features of the Z87 mobo.

If I do not go for OC and SLI in the future, should I go for H87 instead?

I wanted to have the Smart Response Technology feature in Z87 and H87.

If you are using SSD as OS drive then SRT no use. However having said that SRT is still using if you want to cache your data HDD. The downside is that the boot time will be slower as it need to turn on raid in boot settings

HX600w is semi modular... Only the 24 pin, 8 pin, gpu pin are permanently attached. The rest are modular.

Define r4 would be better than 330R. Or can consider arc midi r2/mini r2.

212x would b better since u nt gonna OC. Spending son much on U14 isnt worth it.

Both 212x and 212evo are the same thing. Just that the 212x has a 'cross' at the heatpipes at the top. To allow for better dissipation. And most shops are stocking on 212x instead of 212evo. Hardly any shop still got 212 evo.

Since u r going for silent cases, can try nzxt h230.

Unboxing videos are ur best fren for nw.

Also, remove the ODD if u r only gonna use it to install OS. there are other ways to install OS without ODD. Can channel the money to a better gpu like r9 280x which is similar to 770. The price diff is less den $100, as compared to $200 odd from 760 to 770.

I also read up from AnandTech and Tom's Hardware.

I need the ODD for work purposes and I prefer to stay with Nvidia GPU.
