Those new to rc plane should not buy plane directly from shop first. Don't waste your money like me. Spent so much money crashing. Just go down to punggol field walk opp punggol plaza. Every sat and sunday morning from 730am there will be people flying. Ask around people will recommend you alex. He sell e starter, beaver for newbie who nv ply rc plane before. He will teach u step by step how to control the plane , land the plane ,etc

Average start is about $230 with electronic less radio. For a good start i recommend you buy a good radio which will last you for your entire hobby. From plane to heli to rc boat using same radio TX , RX.

For batt you can buy in bulk directly from factory which will cause you even cheaper.

hi,
need guidance and advice. Was at Compass Pt with my 12yo son and after watching the Tamiya RC competition, he pestered me to start him on RC. I wanted something quick and with minimal/no assembly and he chose the Xpert Build (XB) Pro BMW Z4 using a TT01 chassis.
Apart from Stargek, where can I find similar bodies for TT01 for other car models like Porshe, Honda etc.....How much do these platic bodies cost?
TIA...and yes, I'm also a noob.

Hi there! You can check out S'Wan Model at Orchard Plaza 2nd floor, its the unit above 7-11. The Tamiya bodies cost $50 or more, while HPI ones could be about $35 and above, not too sure about the prices since I've been out of touch.

The TT01 should be a good durable car for your son, parts are also relatively cheap to replace and find. It's a good hobby for your kid to learn more about electronics and also the mechanics of car suspension, gearing etc.

What TheoDR said is right. For starters, TT01 is good enough. Parts are cheap and widely available. I suppose yr kid's interested in touring rather than drifting so getting the TT01E is good. Pls go to the shop to enquire more. Winnie will be able to assist you in your queries. Good luck.

cant see the cover,anyway internet can find doesnt mean you can get the cover
maybe can try to some RC shop to find the cover

think all 1/10 rc cover can fit all kinds of chassis but theres different position for the bodypost needed to ream

Yes. I remember helping my friend more than 15 yrs ago painting his toyota celica body kit which he had bought from Winne. That my my last time since I saw her. Wonder how she looks like 15 yrs later.....

Thanks. Read that 190mm body is suitable for TT01 chassis. If use 200mm then gotta customize abit. Dont wanna go too deep as I have far too many hobbies liao...
Just get the basics for my kid for now with a Camaro body.

The last time i saw her before i started replaying r/c again was like 10 years ago..Still looks the same lehx(Except a couple of white hair), she still rem my bro thou..

For 200mm shells, basically you can go for wider offset rims..

Its a hobby I never regretted picking up.

Btw, the std charger provided as a freebie when I bought the XB-Pro takes abt 10hrs to charge a 6-cell 7.2v battery. Playtime is abt 15mins ya?
I guess I either need to buy ...
1. A quick-charger to reduce charging time OR
2. Another battery to extend playtime to 30mins OR
3. Buy both

Need recommendations for a decent charger & brand of battery to get & $$ cost. Thanks.

Normally I'll have at least 3 battery to rotate. Quick charger is not good for the batt life. investing in a good charger if playing for long term is best.

Runtime depends on the current rating/capacity of the battery. 3800mAh gives you about 30min or more on a car with the stock silvercan motor. The last time I read an R/C mag, seems like battery current ratings are already 4500mAh or something..

The best charger you can get is one that has:
- peak detection
- able to discharge your battery
- slow and fast charge

Those are usually $100 and above, but charge your packs a lot better than $15 ones. Fast charge can be as fast as 30 min depending on your battery current capacity.

Just some extra info.. LiPo batteries have high current ratings BUT they require a battery charger that is able to charge LiPo cells, if not you risk having the batteries burst into flames.

As for brand of battery, I usually go with GP, and most recently the Intellect brand.
