hi, are the batts and chargers good? i got a drift kit, now just left with the charger and batt to get it running. please advice.

Sorry for the 2 days late reply..Seldom log on here..

Maxamps 5000MAH 7.4V packs..Basically i'm getting a constant punch from the start right till the end..Which is around 2hrs or more??

The gd part bout lipos is that i can charge it, leave it around for maybe 1week without using and it still remains at that charge..Can charge it even if it's 1/2 discharge..

The downside bout lipo battery is that you really need to take note of the charging/discharging procedure, storage stuff and such..Will catch fire or become unusable..

Which is why i chose a Hyperion 0606i which has a built in balancer for lipos as well..So really save the trouble of having to monitor it while charging..

I guess the person who can answer u better is a guy by the name of Alan(9855-6038), (tell him Roland gave u his contact) which i got my maxamps and hyperion from..

And by the way, you'll need a lipo indicator..I'm using Novak smart stop lipo indicator..

And welcome to the world of r/c drifting...Not much time to play with my bro recently due to studies for the both of us..haha

Maxamp 5000Mah 2S = $180
Hyperion 0606i AC/DC with built in balancer = $200

The Hyperion charger have a balancing tap just to balance up the cells in the lipo..

While the lipo indicator is a link onto ur battery or between ur ESC to Receiver..

Unless you go for higher end ESC like Tekin etc etc which has a LVC(Low Voltage Cut), you will need a separate lipo indicator..

I'm using Novak Smart Stop which has 2 wires to connect to the battery, 1 tap to connect to my receiver, and the tap from my MC330CR esc goes to the Novak module..

Lipo 7.4v has a low voltage of 6.4v(If i nv rem wrongly)..Anything less than that will kill the cell aka over discharging..Novak SS module works in such a way..When it's approaching the warning level, u will get intermittent power even when u fully depress the throttle..And once it hits the LVC, you wont beable to throttle, u can only control steering and the blue LED on the module will light up.

Another low cost lipo indicator works by LEDs indication..Cost around $18 from Jet hobby..The bad thing bout this is that u have to constantly take a look at the indication..

wahhhh but once bloated means gg aready eh?

btw i'm using this ESC can use till so power lipo right?

http://www.mtroniks.net/details1.asp/ProductID/178/sid/4/Genesis-Sport-Plus.htm

and how many types of 20t motor are there ahr?..let say if i wan something fast/drift type...and as compair to a normal silver can will the 20t be much more faster?

Bro, killing me with more technical question..will try to answer to the best of my limited knowledge... :D

Once bloated = GG already..Cos the chemistry in the cell is screwed up so ya..Need to pay attention to the over discharging part..

I'm running on 23T battery..20T will be faster definitely but to use lipos, as recommended by the Maxamp guy, final gear ratio to be 6 and above..Anything less will be like over amping which is a killer too...

Perhaps you might wana give Alan(9855-6038) for alot more information and advice on running on lipos..He's also the guy for Maxamps and Hyperion stuff..

20T motors probably got a few around but depends on the number of strands of copper wire used and what type.. From what I remember, they've the flat single strand type or stuff like "20T triple/double etc"

20 turn Triple/double means they have triple/double strand wrapped around each armature "arm" (forgot proper term) 20 times. Generally, the lower the number of turns, the more powerful the motor.

As for triple/double strand etc, I think it plays around with the motor torque or something, will have to check.. :p
