TT01 is Tamiya's 4WD shaft driven chassis. Yup, battery operated. Car kit alone is $188, comes with electronic speed control. A whole basic kit with the TT01 chassis is about $280.

juz change a few stuff i guess erm, shock absorbers, shaft to make it better.. the rest erm.. oh ya PVC tires? hehe ur most impt ... the rest should be on ur skills le i intend to join EDMW Drift Club end of the mth

i tink the transmitter is 1 of the most basic one.. juz for 1 car onli... its better to hav those can store at least 3 memories? it depends whether would it be ur last car?

for me ... i sure choose something abit better cos i been thru the R/C last time... was playing kyosho mark II series.. running on petrol... when u zhng ur car n u keep running n testing... did u tot of urself like ur Intial D's 1 of those street driver?

ZHNG... >.< btw the parts of tat transmitter discontinued already keke i check frm futaba le keke

Okay, here goes:

TT01 chassis kit with electronic speed controller (ESC): $188
3300mAh 7.2V battery pack: minimum $38
Basic (5-7hour charge time) charger: $15
Radio controller (with transmitter, receiver and 2 servos): minimum $115-$125 onwards (should be the Futaba 2PHKA [Futaba Magnum Jr.]
Eight pieces of AA batteries for transmitter: $10?
A set of PVC tyres + wheels around $8-10

More racy kit:
more than 4000mAh battery pack: minimum $85
ESC with no motor limit: minimum $150
Auto peak detect + discharger: minimum $150
Modified motor (handwound coil and balanced): $135

Note that the higher battery current rating you go, that means you can run your car longer but your ESC and motor will have to run hotter and longer, get a heatsink for your motor at least. Most ESCs nowadays have a safety cutoff to shutdown before they overheat so as to prevent damage.

That transmitter ish basic one... I suggest if can stretch budget a bit further, get the Futaba 2PL since it can store 10 car memory. LOL, I doubt the TT01 will be the last car one will get.

I think its a bit sexpensive...1500mAh battery cannot last 25min on the stock silvercan motor also I think. One can of polycarbonate paint is about $8-9.

Oh, S'Wan is selling the TT01 kit for $280 with Magnum Jr. radio controller and battery etc. Check it out and see if you want to change anything like the battery etc.
