you are too late, booking for peak period 1 month beforehand

For flight you can use skyscanner
Compare Cheap Flights & Airline Tickets | Skyscanner Singapore

or take non promotional SQ flight (I can still see Super Deal or Sweet Deal at around 1k-1.2k)
Flexi saver still around at 1.4k (My previous two trips i also took Flexi even more expenisve!)

Washington Shinjuku, i never stay before
But i stayed in Gracery Ginza which is the same chain. It is still okay, a bit small and not exactly cheap.
You can check review of Shinjuku Washington Hotel here
Shinjuku Washington Hotel (Tokyo): See 979 Reviews and 331 Photos - TripAdvisor

But to be honest, those that fully booked should also be of the same standard as Washington Hotel. (They are 2-3 stars maybe)

Nope, not taking SQ, too ex! Unless got promo.

Solo Traveling is Good

Sense of Freedom is very overwhelming! :s13:

plus i can read the Japanese characters(Hiragana and Katakana), so navigation is not much of the problem.

Understanding wise is pretty hard as i was at basic level(Used to study Japanese language @ 8 years ago and forced to give up for long time due to a lot of issues :( )

To Haneda easier. Narita is a bit far away from Tokyo compared to Haneda.

From Haneda, you need to take the Monorail to Hamamatsucho

Then you can just take Yamanote line to Ikebukuro. It will take less than 1 hour

It is very friendly because is airport!

And many people use the same route.

Alamak, of cos i know airport is user frenly.
Wat i mean is, last time i read somewhere... Oh, found it!

"The biggest challenge about taking Narita Express to station like Ikebukuro is that you will have to drag your luggages up the stairs. "

Becos no escalator or lift in Ikebukuro.

My impression was Ikebukuro has many escalators and lifts. But I used the JR side of the station, not sure other areas are equally luggage friendly or not. But if you are coming from narita, you will be using JR platforms.

There should be but it will be hard to find.

Just try to pack light (10kg should be okay to carry).

can choose which airport to land?
I took ANA but only Narita, my wife took JAL and also Narita.
We took Cathay before and went Haneda.

Both are ok but i think Haneda is better as its newer...

As far as I know only Kawazu sakura in Shizuoka has bloomed, and that place is famous for blooming way earlier than any other place in Japan (except maybe Okinawa). Other than that I doubt any other places have started blooming. Flowers that have bloomed will be plum blossoms, not sakura.
