Looks like the best deal from PC show is M1 100M Fibre at $29. Same price as ST 15M ADSL.

They have removed the 25Mbps cable plan.
Now the cheapest is 50Mbps cable plan at $29.90.
Cable Home Broadband Plans | Cable Broadband | StarHub Broadband
I think if recontract will have slightly better promo.
But better to wait for this Thursday PC show.

This SH is really a joker. Instead of giving good deals during IT show, they remove the good deal instead.

One question : why is BB forcing mobile BB on all the subscribers? What is the benefit for this?

Looks like I may not jump ship from red camp to sunshine camp as red camp has an offer for 200Mbps fibre at $49.90 with 7 mths free; waiver of analogue line subscription(or free digital voice); no installation fees and.....getting my fibre plan up and running within 7 working days.

This offer is for recontract as I'm currently on ADSL. All fees are waived. Got the offer from retention dept. I just call 1688 and tell them I'm terminating my line and they put me thru to retention dept...and of course they ask why am I considering terminating my line...and I just tell them that M1 offer.... :D

They also offer me but still need to pay the registration fees of $53.50. The installation for weekdays $90 is waived though. Ask them to waive the registration fees but they say cannot. Do u need to pay for the registration fee of $53.50?

I used your method.
Didn't manage to get 7 mth waive.
I only get 6 mth waive.

During the registration call, the singtel CSO, mention registration fee waive which is not mention in the early discussion with other department CSO (I had been transfer from department to department at least 3-4 x)

I keep on checking with her.. registration fee waive. She said yes yes yes

SO..
my finial is
200MB fibre $49.90 (24 mth contract)
- Wireless Dual-band modem
- weekday installation waive
- Free 6 mth subscription
- Registration fee waive

they will call me to confirm in 3 days time..
Let see.. will they change their word.

Need some clarification...

I just jump from SNBB to Singtel Fibre.

As it come with the wireless dual band modem.

Is this enough?

I google and find there is a device call "optical network terminal "
Do I need to purchase it?
Or singtel will provide it when they come and do the installation.

i am also contemplating between switching to m1 as i oni nid basic fibre plan.
called retention dept also offered 7 mths free.
i also nid analogue line also thus dis make me think again on switching to m1.

qns on m1 fibre digital line
1)does it mean i have to on both ont and modem in order to let the phone function?
2) as my main purpose is outgoing call, can i start to make outgoing call immediately once i on both ont and modem? or i have to wait for several mins for it to connect?
3) if i'm not wrong, singtel digtal call is free for both incoming and outgoing.. does m1 provide the same?

Only if u convert to digital line...........if still analogue...no change..but must pay for calls.

Sorry, not on digital line...so can't tell u....but base on my experience with digital line...should not be an issue as u should be hving ur modem 24/7 x.

Yes, local calls are freef for digital.....for singtel....subscription is free...but incoming/outgoing calls is charged. To me, digital phe is dependent on router and ISP...and with some members of my family being technology challenged........sticking with analogue phe is my solution as it does not depend on router/ISP outage.

Maybe I not clear on my explanation on phone line. Let me rephrase.

For Singtel bundle:
Analogue line - Subscription free but local calls are charged. If convert to digital voice, there is no subscription fees and locals calls are free.

If u port over to M1, it will be converted to digital voice, with no subscription fees and local calls are free.

If u are using digital voice, switching off ur modem means ur phone line is deactivated since digital voice is VOIP....meaning it depends on internet to recd/make calls.
