I think coming fair they give at least a dual band N router for 100Mbps plan or better. Dual band is good. My kid has a samsung Tab 3 tablet and can get 80-100Mbps for local speed test and ~22Mbps to Hong Kong speed test server. Very fast for a tablet.

Is this for 3g tablet?

No la, 4g but at home use wifi can get 80-100Mbps too using dual band wifi. Tab 3 is $0 phone so I got for her remotely. When wifi as long as dual band wifi is fast already. 3g tablet also can use.

aiyo, dual band simply means it's 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz RF spectrum lar. There is no or less interference on the 5Ghz but most tablets are not able to support. When you laptops etc are on the 5Ghz, it free up more bandwidth for the 2.4Ghz spectrum to transmit more data.

That's it. I wanna sell mine coz the Dlink bundled one is simply useless.....too poor coverage. I am happy with 2.4Ghz with extended coverage through the Asus router/AP.

holding on till pc show - hopefully starhub full on and come out with a deal that can beat m1 deal !

I already got 3 months waiver if I sign up the HomeHub package. the problem is, is Starhub fibre stable? How come one side I heard many people complaining but on the other side, many people are dying to jump into Starhub/continue to use Starhub Fibre?

It is normal and where you can get real feedback of what is good or bad. The choice is yours. If the existing is still your favour, do keep it.:s13:

I got a question. Installed 200mbps singnet yesterday. But my wireless speed only hit 40mbps. Was expecting 80mbps for wireless. Wired can hit 200mbps though. The router they gave is a aztech. Is there any settings to boost the wireless speed or the hardware they gave me is shitty? Pl advise. Thanks

Not sure Aztech is a dual band router, if connection with 5Ghz, should be able to connect as higher speed.

What model is your router? If FG7002 then can go faster. Should have waited for 5 - 8 June PC show as usually they give dualband during major fair. During normal day must sign 300Mbps then dualband.

If your router is 7002 then it meant your notebook do not have 5Ghz Wifi so just need to buy a usb dual band adapter will do.

He already mentioned it is Aztech. For ST 200Mbps it is single band router during normal day but during promotion it will be at least dual band router and that's the reason why so many people waiting for PC Show. It is coming thursday to sunday. During normal day have to sign 300Mbps to get dual band. The model is written on a sticker at the side of the router eg. DSL7000GRV or DSL7002GRV.

To get dual band router the only way is to call 1688 to blame ST for not telling you the promotion properly and ask them to change your router and your plan to 300Mbps.

Thanks for all the repiles. My model is 7000.unfortunatley not the 7002. Cannot call sing tel cos the document already show they give me the 7000 when I sign up so no case for argument. Now looking to ramp up the wireless speed with the 7000. I took for granted that my wireless speed will be 80 mbps without considering the hardware they will be giving me.

Too late liao Bro. Did not know at the 7000 and 7002 until yesterday. Singtel is charging me 43.xX for my 10mbps. Bloodsuckers. So I got to change asap.

5Ghz can't really survive beyond a wall. A stronger 2.4Ghz booster is more promising. 5Ghz for high speed performance is best within line of sight ...

Next time do research and ask the cso and let them answer you until you are clear. Another way is ask them to change router and upgrade to 300M.

Actually if it is stable, 40+ Mbps is not that slow. My kid use Tab 3 using normal 2.4Ghz wifi can get 40-50+ local speed and speed test to USA average speed is 20-38 Mbps which is good for most task. Understand my kid is quite happy with it.
