clarify the $10 rebate, if it is on total bill or usage charges or those quarterly subscription fees. mine is every month, so effectively paying $13.45 net & phone, exc. $1-2 usage charge..doubt they will let me recon on same terms soon.

think he has not included the quarterly phone line charges, it's either they give u the rebate or just waiver, which in the end is similar. there's no way u get a phone line waiver and a bill rebate at the same time. would like to know if anyone gets that! it'll be a fantastic deal!

Anyone managed to get the phone line waived as of today?

Nope. No phone line waiver, no new modem, even free supplementary email account also removed.

Modem warranty is extended by another year for the 10mbps recontract.

Haiz should have tried recontracting in Dec...

you got try to ask for the waiver not? if you did, how insisting and persistent are you?

About 2 weeks back talked to a lady already saw with drawn le. When I recontracted recently, this guy said if I can give I would do it.

So I gave up n just recontract rather letting the current contract stretch any longer.

my 1 mbps LOL! at $12/mth coming to an end this march.

just recontracted the 10 mbps at $23.45/mth today. got a modem as well! but i'm not sure what type it is as my dad was the one who called.

He did say some wireless modem but it sounds very dubious.

on hindsight, should have asked if I could continue my original plan...it was a 2 yr contract at $20/mth but with first year free.

gd luck to everyone else trying. really depends on the person you speak to i feel.

Modem should be 2Wire 5012 NV. They need to give u one free as your current modem likely not able to recieve 10 Mbps.

Modem shld be the Aztech DSL 1015EW (S). This modem not bad, test speed with wireless was ard 11M+. Hardly drop below 10M. With wired test better, can at times achieve 11.5M.

but it seems to me that people are rejecting the aztech wireless modem and request for the 2wire wireless modem. why is that so???

That why I was quite puzzled why ppl don want this modem. Since day 1 ST delivery to me, I have been using it without any problem. Speed wise is much better than the 2wire modem white color. Not sure about the earlier batch, maybe the firmware now is different.

2wire white /= 2wire black

hmm.

i'm not very familiar with this modem business because i have quite a lot of very old speedtouches lying around that i always get with recontract but end up just not using them.

currently on a aztech dsl1000 i think, given when i signed up for mio tv. its linked to a linksys wireless router for my home setup.

do the new modems that you guys mention have wireless routing capabilities? then i can throw the linksys away? LOL

Thanks in advance for any replies. =)
