Felixthecat, so sorry to hear your plight. In case they send you a penalty for the cancellation, email them and ask them to waive it off. Explain to them your situation. In the first place as what you said, they didn't honour what they said to you, so why should you pay for cancellation? If you haven't sign any contract with them it should be fine, I guess. But still better try find out more first.
Can I check with you, other than having to install the cable point, what else is required? I'm calculating the cost of installation, etc and whatever charges. Let's say if I continue with ST, I pay $10 more for broadband and home line compared to SH, so a 2 yrs contract with ST means I will be paying a $240 more.
I am trying to weigh the pros and cons of jumping to SH just to save on this $240. 15Mbps or 25Mbps won't make much difference to me since 10Mbps has been serving me and my family without any problem so far.
