Is dryer necessary as it is hot most of the time and all having back up clothings? I feel dryer may be needed for European countries or countries above tropical where Sun give a rare appearance.

Think very rarely need dryer. Unless lazy. Many cannot be busy until no time at home to sun it. Only some days in the year end when it rain more, that it can be much appreciated. But that is like how many days in a year only.

But then, if got observed, now 2nd half of the year the sun lean toward the south more. Thus those sunning area which are south facing very early can get the sun already, and the clothes dry even much faster very early in the morning, when the sun not even that high up yet. Cause of the ample sun. Thus, whole year got pretty good sun one. Only year end some days alot of rain.

However, this kind of thing is like selling refrigerator to eskimo. So, its up to individual bah.

Definitely not necessary. The climate here is so hot and humid. Just hang to dry and it will dry pretty fast.

Some households do not have an area to hang the clothes and so a dryer is preferred. Or more of convenience for some.

The point about having a dryer is nt just abt drying clothes. Is about the level of CONTROL that you have over time during durations of ultra large loads.

but necessary or not, up to you. I can say its necessary, but a lot of people will say that I am kinda cuckoo.

Depends on how much laundry you normally have and crucially, do you have space/facilities to sun/air dry your clothes. My parent's place, old style HDB, 4 window panel width in kitchen with pole holders can sun/air-dry a lot of clothing at once. My BTO, has a pathetic maybe 1.5m rack with 3 or 4 horizontal poles, no sun and facing exterior walls barely a few metre away, dryer is necessity esp with young children.

Today I went through the manual and found many grammatical and spelling errors..I really doubt the efficacy as claimed by the product and pray for it to last for at least 3 years..

Dryer is not necessary for me. Normal clothing indoor drying within a day. Bedsheets might be longer

Not just quality, but also after sales if touch wood you need repairs.

Apart from control, there's also sunlight that fades the clothes when it's hanged out to dry.

Not to mention the contaminants that attaches to the washed clothes, dust particles, insects, above neighbours hanging out their marinated meat or smokers donating their smoke particles.

On the damage to clothes, only a heat pump can address it cos a normal vented or condenser dryer uses high heat to dry the clothes. So either shrink or fade.

Solution is Heat Pump dryers but they are expensive, energy saving, although the savings usually don't justify the higher price.

After Toshiba was acquired by Midea, it's basically a chinese product that you're buying, Manuals, marketing materials etc are all generated in China, obviously in Chinese. They are passed down and translated in the local markets which is why you see those errors.

They use a lot of "expatriates" in the local offices who do direct translations and applying communications that are relevant to homeland. That's why you see these things. Just go to the Toshiba FB or Instagram pages. You will be "amazed".

Just avoid Chinese or Korean brands unless you don't mind changing every 3-4 years for novelty.

Stick with Jap or European brands. It's not just for the branding or looking good in front of others. The amount of QC that goes into the development is something which they really do. Not the sole cause of flooding the market with models to gain market or retail floor space.

I use lg combo 12/8.

The dryer only use for bedsheet

If your house got space get a washer and heat pump dryer. Heat pump dryer won't shrink clothes and use very little energy. If not wrong it also don't need water outlet, there are models that suck the water into a drawer that you empty
