I went Taiwan in 2014 dec period with 3 others and hired Simon(+886 986 712 971) for 7 days. Very satisfied with his service; he is a young guy and was very nice and friendly. I went to Taichung > sun moon lake> cing jing> hualian > Taipei> Keelung.

He helped us with our itinerary and bought snacks for us on some days. Was very thoughtful; he help us contact the minsu owner before we arrived to make sure we can check in smoothly, and helped us take pictures. Also gave us a phone for us to contact him easier(but I bought data so it was not really used in my case). Car was very comfortable and clean. Can sit up to 7.He brought us up to yangmingshan at night to see night view and have a drink, ambience was very nice.

Price was reasonable ,$4000-4500 per day depending distance. Strongly recommend him and hiring him again when I head to Taiwan this year to explore the southern part of Taiwan. He has whatsapp so it's easy to contact him.

I was quoted 6k/day for a 9 days driver/tour guide around taiwan. Includes his accom/fuel/toll fees/meals.

Itinerary is not set yet. As i'm new to taiwan, is this a reasonable price?

Recently went to Taiwan and booked a day trip with cab driver, Mr 孫涟凯 aka Kevin, to bring me and 3 other friends to 野柳,九份 and 十份. My friend found him on the Singapore hardware zone forum and saw many good reviews about him and so we decided to try our luck and managed to book him one day in advance though his booking can span up to 6 months in advance! True enough to the great reviews, Kevin provided great service at a very reasonable price. Below are details of what made the day trip extra awesome, thanks to Kevin!

The most interesting/ attractive thing about his service would be his taxi. His taxi is plastered with huge stickers of various cartoon characters including hello kitty, one piece, doraemon, my melody to name a few, no way anyone could walk past his taxi without taking a 2nd look! No worries of not being able to find him and his taxi after he drops you off!

During lunch, Kevin brought us to a seafood restaurant with delicious and fresh seafood which was priced very reasonably. He had recommended us that particular restaurant as he knew that they would not try to rip tourists off.

Kevin drove safely along the way, shared generously about the places he brought us and also happened to be a good photographer/ videographer, helping us to take many beautiful group shots :)

While @ 九份 old town, Kevin made the effort to walk us through the streets instead of just dropping us off as he did not want us to get ripped off by certain shops. Thanks to his good relationship with many of the shop owners there, my friends and I got to sample many of the food items which were not usually served to regular customers.

As the day came to an end, we asked Kevin where we could get fresh fruits as well as bicycle accessories. Instead of just giving us information where to find it, Kevin went the extra mile to drive us to the local wholesale market to get the fruits as well as the bicycle shop. All without extra charges.

If you're looking for a reliable driver around Taiwan (he does round island trips as well), Kevin is the person to look for! His contact is: +886930000186, +886988205513.

Another thumbs up for Kevin 孫涟凯 (+886930000186). I've been to taiwan many times but was travelling with friends who were there for the first time so decided to hire him to go to jiufen/shifen/jin gua shi/yin yang hai/ yeliu. I Usually only manage to go to jiufen/shifen if I diy due to the infrequent train timing btwn ruifang and shifen.

contacted him via whatsapp and got a reply a few hours later. Agreed on 3.2k twd to cover the above destinations. (was getting quotes of 3.5k else where) Supposed to be a 8 hr trip, but we made additional stops along the way so ended up taking 10 hours instead but he did not charge us extra.

He picked us up at xmd and then 2 of my other friends who stayed at taipei main station before heading off to yeliu. Kevin gave us homemade soap that his sister made as a welcome gift. He also treated us to bubble tea when we reached yeliu. Much appreciated as the weather there was extremely hot!!! He walked us to the entrance, gave us instructions on where to walk. We didnt spend long inside as the weather was too much to bear. He did tell us not to buy any souvenirs from there as they were overpriced and to let him know what we wanted if any, he can bring us to cheaper places later on.

On the way to yeliu, kevin told us to look out at a cliff where ppl were jumping off. It turned out that they were doing paragliding. My friends got excited and wanted to paraglide too so he arranged and made a stop for us. It costs 1600 twd per person, comes along with a sd card with the video of the entire process. I dont think he received any commission, so it was very nice of him to drop us off spontaneously.

We then proceeded for lunch at a seafood restaurant. The food there was yummy and very reasonably priced. we had crab with been hoon soup (those tze char kind) for 500twd.

Subsequently headed to the rest of the sites. Kevin walked along with us along jiufen, and guided us through food that he felt were nice. If he felt the stores were not nice/not nicely priced, he would tell us to move on and bring us to better places or cheaper places. He constantly offered us samples so we can try all the different food but there was no pressure to buy any. If we didnt like any we would move on. we also got discounted 'group' prices at the popular ah xing souvenir shop where ppl buy the jelly (much nicer than the rest of the touristy 100twd one). He continued to bring us to walk the rest of jiu fen, some smaller alleys and spots with nice view which I never ventured to in my previous 3 trips to jiufen. He was constantly helping us to take photos as well. Anything we bought along the way, he would leave it with store owner so we didnt have to carry and he would walk back himself to collect it all at one shot 1 and carry back to the car for us.

We had a very enjoyable day with Kevin who in addition to providing very thoughtful service, was very humerous and entertaining to spend the day with. Can contact him if you are looking for a driver who is cheap and has good service.

Hi! Any recommendation for private driver with van for 9 adults with luggages space? We would like to tour cingjing for a day. Would prefer the driver to pick us up from Taichung to Cingjing Mingsu then tour around before returning back to cingjing mingsu at night.

We would also need a driver to pick us up at cingjing and drive us all the way to taipei.

Recommendation of suitable drivers and their quote would be appreciated. Thank you in advance! :s13::s13:

Hi there,

i know of simon (+886 986 712 971) who drives a 7 seater and lives in Taichung. His mom and dad is also part of this business and he has mentioned that he has brought bigger groups of people in 2 cars (his own and his mom's). Perhaps you can try contacting him? He is a nice and friendly guy and will accommodate to your interests :) his rates are usually 4000-4500 per car per day.

From Cingjing to Hualien, you have to pass by Hehuanshan.

So probably you have to consider if Hehuanshan is worth going.

its reasonable if you have more than 4 pax, as they will use Volkwagen car, for 4 or less pax they usually use Toyota wish which cost about 3-4k per day
