Driver Name: 蕭政閔 / 布丁 / Pudding
Contact/Whatsapp: +886 955 577 675
Line: a37213721
Car : Toyota Wish (Taxi)
Charges : 3500 for 8 hours. 400 for every extra hour after 8 hours.

Review of Pudding. I seldom post but since I sourced his contact from the bros and Sis in this forum, I shall post a short review.

Was in Taipei late May/ Early June. Booked Pudding for a one day tour from Taipei. I told him I want to go to Jiufen/Shifen and to release Sky Lanterns. The rest of the itinerary can be decided by him.
His suggested itinerary was

南雅奇岩 >陰陽海→黃金瀑布 >> 九份老街>十分天燈>酒店

Pudding is a very nice and friendly guy. He is more than a driver. He took on the roles of tour guide, photographer and food reviewer as well. Able to tell us about the history of the places we went to.

He actively volunteered to take photos with his phone and then sends it to me. He knows the best locations and angles to take photos and will tell us how to pose for the photos (reminds me of my wedding photographer). A few days later he even sent a short video montage of the photos taken (with music).

We talked about Taipei food during the drive and he will recommend what he thinks are the best food in Taipei. He will send me the addresses and google map links.

Overall 10/10

The only drawback is that he only converses in Mandarin. So if you’re liaising with him in English then he has to use google translate. One option is to use voice messages if you can speak but can’t read/write Mandarin.

On the recommendation of my friend, I have engaged 潘品中先生for his service for my recent Taiwan trip from 1 to 6 June with my elderly parents. Before the trip, he would plan out the itinerary for me and make sure we are comfortable with the arrangement. Upon arrival in the evening, he was prompt to receive us in the airport and also send us to a recommended restaurant for our dinner fix.

During the 5 full days, he would provide us with a clear introduction of the landmarks we were visiting and would often volunteer to take photos for us. I must say his photography skill is one of the best and he would teach us how to pose to get the best angles. We are all very satisfied with how the photographs turn out.

When dealing with my elderly parents, he is always very patient and attentive. Noting that my mother cannot walk for a long distance, he would always find the route that doesn't require much walking or stairs climbing.

He would be punctual and always arrive way before us and make sure our safety on road. Overall, we are very pleased with his service and would not hesitate to recommend anyone who wants to go to Taiwan to use him. Understand he is very popular and so must book him early.

You can contact 潘品中先生 through whatsapp:

Can we just close this thread? It's just full of spamming and adverts. It doesn't serve anymore purpose for discussion.

is it recommended for 2 pax to book private car/taxi to Jiufen, Shifen, Yehliu, Yinyanghai and Golden Waterfall from ximending or public transport will be better?

My concern will be if the time taken will be quite long for public transport. Any advice? TIA!

2 pax? Take train better lah ;) It's about an hour drive there anyway.

Another alternative for you is to take train to Ruifang then go for the taxi tour package. Try to compare the price and see which is more economical.

Personally, I have tried both options before and I would still prefer to go public then opt for taxi tour package if desired.

2 pax book driver sure not that worth it but save time and can go more places.
If take public transport, you need to skip Yeliu cos of insufficient time and route.

I just did ximen to Shifen, jiufen, keelung and back to ximen 2 pax.

Ximen to shifen
Ximen station – zhongxiao Fuxing (change mrt) – Muzha station – take Taiwan shuttle bus #795 to shifen.
Bus #795 (Muzha station) – shifen (old street) (2nd last stop) – shifen visitor center (shifen waterfall) (last stop)

shifen to jiufen
take train to ruifang, change bus to jiufen/Golden Waterfall.
If you miss the train, good luck to you, need to wait 1hr for next train.
Taxi from shifen to juifen cost 1000ntd, if you can get ppl to share is 250ntd each.

jiufen to ximen
Take bus to Ruifang change train to TMS.

Hi beancurdlim, same as you, I going for 10 days trip with my 3 years old (but in Dec). I'm still looking for driver. You mention you taking 9 seater.

Can I ask whether its standard 3 rows type or those with independent seats? Its so confusing, I google but picture shows different configuration.

Thks!

Taiwan Recommended Driver - Mr Cola (可乐) (Eason Chen)

I would like to recommend Mr Eason Chen (陈韦豪), also known as Cola (可乐), as the ideal driver that you should engage for a trip around Taiwan. We engaged him as a driver for 9 days, from 23th September to 1 October 2018, for the seven of us from Singapore, and I must say that I am very impressed with his professional service throughout our stay in Taiwan.

Before the trip, Mr Chen volunteered to formulate a personalised itinerary that he felt would be beneficial for our family, which consisted of two elderly grandparents that had mobility issues. He also provided us with recommendations to decent accommodations that were affordable yet comfortable, given his experience and knowledge as a driver for over 10 years. One particular honourable mention was the accommodation in Cingjing, where he helped us booked an accommodation that had a lift right at the doorstep which ensured full convenience for the elderly. I was touched by his sincerity as I knew that many accommodations in Cingjing did not have lifts and the upper floors were only accessible by staircases. Throughout the trip, he never fails to constantly think for the elderly and always seek ways on how to ensure that they are properly taken cared of. For example, he tries his best to stop his vehicle at a suitable location that would render less walking or inconvenience for them. He also cared for the elderly and repeatedly checked if they were feeling unwell while travelling.

He works on a principle that does not go strictly by the clock. He always emphasises that on holiday, the most important thing is to enjoy without worries, meaning one should not be worrying too much about rushing from one location to another in a stipulated time. I feel that this is a luxury that one would not be able to get when following planned tours and it really helped us to take in and be amazed by the different attractions. Along the way, he makes flexible adjustments to the itinerary when he feels it will be better for us given the rainy weather, even if it meant he had to make a detour and travel further distances. Also, there was a mini mishap that we suffered right on the first day of our trip, which was that the wheel rims of the wheelchair we brought along for my grandmother broke, rendering it unable to be used. Mr Chen painstakingly worked through the night to try his best to contact avaliable repair shops even though it was the Mid-Autumn holiday break. His hard effort allowed us to repair the wheelchair at a low cost and saved us the trouble from purchasing a brand-new expensive wheelchair. Despite our itinerary being delayed due to this repair, he never fails to keep his calm and still did his best to ensure we got to experience all the attractions. This is one memorable event that has reflected very well on Mr Chen’s thoughtfulness for his customers. His selfless attitude of going the extra mile to serve outside his required job scope has really impressed us and we are very grateful for him for that. Also, his wide grasp of understanding of the heritage and history of most places he brings us to makes him as knowledgeable as a tour guide, taking up this additional role that was not required of him as well. It helped us to have a holistic picture of what the tourist attractions offered, on top of the admirable scenery and beauty of the place.

At first, we were apprehensive of him as we have never met him before. However, I must say that Mr Chen gained our trust quickly with his sincere actions. He always tries to crack jokes to liven up the atmosphere and make us happy and carefree while on holiday. His years of experience had indeed made him a very alert and skilful driver, especially on mountainous roads that have dangerous curves. His in-car entertainment system never fails to play the songs that we love to hear, be it English or Chinese songs, to make us feel more at ease.

The best part of Mr Chen is that he is truly a skilled photographer and he constantly volunteers to take many photos for our family. I must say this is the only trip we have taken so many photos with fun-filled memories away from Taiwan back to Singapore, and all credit goes to Mr Chen. He is an avid photographer and he simply knows the best angles to take the best photos. He constantly askes us to do a certain pose instead of just taking our faces. No matter how tiring the day has been, he serves his customers relentlessly and to the best of his ability. As a driver, he could have just sat in his car to rest, but whenever he is able to and can find parking, he always comes down with us to be our ‘private photographer’! He can even take up to 3000 photos just on a 10-day trip, making his commitment and service to his customers truly evident.

I got to know Mr Chen from Singapore based forums discussing the service of different Taiwan drivers and this is just a way of thanking Mr Chen for his wonderful service that he has provided for my family. I hope that my review of Mr Chen would make you more convinced that he is a truly reliable driver that you should engage if you are intending to visit many places in Taiwan, which would not be that readily accessible through public transport. I strongly believe that review accounts of those that have personally experienced his service would be reliable and more beneficial in helping you make the right decision for a driver in Taiwan. There are many other good drivers that I definitely cannot comment of, but you will never regret your decision to enjoy Taiwan with Mr Chen. In all my 3 times of visiting Taiwan, one is a tour based, one is a free and easy, and this one with him as a driver, I must say this was the best with the most unforgettable experience, and also with the least inconvenience as one does not need to worry about navigating to locations and researching on a foreign transport system but can truly enjoy Taiwan with a carefree mind.

Mr Chen rates are definitely affordable and reasonable given his service, and he is very open for any enquiries of itineraries.
