Then no choice, either you take early TRA train to Hualien or book driver from Taipei to Hualien include tour. There are many taxi at Hualien TRA station, they have package tour, you can also check it out.

Need a ride for the following for 2 pax with 2 small child coming july...
Tour around taichung 1 day.. considering tour from klook also..
taichung to flying cow 1 day..
Flying cow to taipei 1 day..
Was thinking if possible can visit places along the way would better or just ask hotel to book a cab.. guess the direct cab would cost $1000+ also or more..

Klook got mix review so I choose to ask hotel in Taichung to book cab 3500 ntd for day tour 8hrs. Private driver will be better if you can provide a plan of where you want to go, they are usually more friendly.

Hi all, read that driver charge are roughly between NT$3,500 to NT$4,500 for Taichung tours. Need advice here, is NT$19,000 ok for the following for 4 pax ?

1) 1.5 day Taichung tour (0.5 on the way to CJING and from ALISHAN back to Taichung)
2) 1.5 day CJING tour (0.5 on the way to ALISHAN)
3) 1 day ALISHAN tour

The usual tourist places that are covered ( i didn't include all here )
薰衣草森林,中社花市,高美濕地,彩虹眷村,日月潭遊湖,阿里山國家森林遊樂區,忠犬動漫社區 etc

Fee includes driver's accomodation at CJING & ALISHAN (i guess he'll arrange himself or go home ba, not sure, but that's what he quoted)

Cingjing to alishan is damn far.
Not advisable to take this route.
By the time you reach alishan, is going to be like 1pm.
Nothing much that you can do.
In a simple way, you not running road, am i right?

I don't know about Tw side. In Thailand, driver can overnight at those driver accommodation solely for driver, the charges is very low but basic.

Same for Taiwan. But some ppl really can squeeze till last drop of sweat.

The price the driver quoted may be Toyota Wish which can comfortably take 3 passengers. Long distance traveling for 4 or 5 passengers and luggage will be bad. You may rent a VW 8-seat wagon at the same price.

Last time we asked David, a tour guide and driver, to drove us around. I think he quoted the reasonable price based on itinerary. You can WhatsApp +886 931 626577. He speaks fluent English and Japanese. Very nice driver and his car is pretty clean. Just Google “My Taiwan Journey.”

Anyone has an idea how much per day it would cost to engage this type of driver?
Once engaged, we can use him the whole day or they have a certain working hours?
Any other hidden charges that we need to take note?

Most will go beyond as long as quite a few days of booking.
Let us be fair to them.
You are resting in the car, but they will be tired from driving.
Do not push beyond 10hrs.
Driver's fatigue is real and potentially fatal.
Charges wise, depends on how you work it out with them.

I see. I’m still thinking whether to engage a driver for the full 9 days or should I do some taxi trips when touring in main city...the days I doing off city like Jiufen/Shifen then I engage driver.
