Hi all, just wanted to echo purseee's comments on 可乐. I was in Taiwan end July this year with my family (was quite busy thereafter thus the delay) and had engaged 可乐's service as well.

This was actually my second time in Taiwan with him as my driver; the first time was with my girlfriend a couple of years ago, this time I was there with my family and we had a big group (my parents and my sisters with 2 small kids). It was good that 可乐 had just changed to his new van so that it could accommodate all of us - the van was new and very comfortable!

We were there only 5D4N and so as usual tried to squeeze as much into the itinerary as possible. 可乐 was very helpful from the start even before we flew over in giving suggestions on places to go as well as the sequence so that we could see as much as possible. As we did our own research along the way and wanted changes to include specific places or restaurants we wanted to go, he was very willing to make those changes but at the same time made sure to tell us what was possible and what was not (so definitely not the kind who agrees to everything but end up telling you there's no time during the trip itself).

From the moment we landed, he was there at the airport to pick us up and overall we were very satisfied with his services. I would not elaborate on our itinerary as it was a mix of different things we wanted to do so not typical I would say. We did spend one day in Yilan where we stayed overnight - we booked a minsu in the outskirts because we liked the room design and during check-in we found out that there was no restaurants that were within walkable distance and 可乐 made sure to drive us out for dinner and fetched us back even though it was already late at night (think he drove for more than 15 hours that day!) and he still had to drive a distance to where he was staying overnight. We felt really bad about it but this was definitely another plus for him!

Throughout the trip he was very enthusiastic and was always very willing to help us take photos. Very flexible and patient as well if we wanted to stay at any place for longer or change our itinerary halfway. In the middle of the trip I suddenly recalled that I had played with fireworks the last time I was in Taiwan and wanted to do it again. 可乐 was very resourceful in knowing where to get them in Yilan and where we could actually set them off so we ended up setting off fireworks twice - once in Yilan and once in Shifen - definitely something special and memorable for the kids and family. To add on, unlike some drivers who are very conscious of time, it did not at any point felt like 可乐 was concerned that we exceeded the time quoted and he also did not charge any additional fare.

So overall, I'd say that he's a great guy who really wants to make the day trips enjoyable and memorable for his customers and would recommend him to anyone who's visiting Taiwan.

Hi!

I just returned from Taiwan on 28th June. Engaged Mr. Cola 可樂 on the 25th for a tour in Taipei. His contact details as follows: +886 989 835 979. :s13:

The itinerary was as follows:

9am: Pick up from hotel in Ximending area (Very comfortable van, even provides tissue and water :))
- Breakfast (he brought us to a local place that sells beehoon soup for a quick breakfast, very yummy!)
- Yehliu Geopark
- Shifen (To light up the lanterns, railway and bridge)
- Yinyang Sea (Very beautiful!)
- Golden waterfall
- Jiufen old street

Apart from the above touristy locations, he brought us to 2 other locations that's only known to the locals (I'm not really sure about the name but I'll add some photos afterwards). It was an awesome experience and the place is super beautiful.

If you want to experience a different kind of Taiwan, I highly recommend you Mr. Cola! Your tour itinerary is customizable, he is very knowledgeable and I've never seen anyone with such high energy and very entertaining and helpful. He's genuinely very nice :)

Hi, we have shortlisted this three drivers for our full day jiufen trip.

1) Pudding
2) Ke Le
3) Ah Hui

It seems like Ah Hui's car is installed with TV-screen. Anyone engaged their services before can share about Pudding and Ke Le's car? Which would be better out of the three? Thanks!

Also, we intend to hire Taichung driver, anyone engaged Mr Li before? Is he good?

Thank you!

Engaged Ah Hui (From Taipei) for our recent 9 days around-Taiwan trip in October. Do contact him for exact rates.

Vehicle was large enough to seat 6pax comfortably, at maximum capacity it can seat 8 + driver. Bottled water, tissue and wet wipes were provided. 2 LCD screens playing youtube videos kept us entertained on long road trips.

Ah Hui was cheerful, very easy to talk to, always accommodating and eager to share his stories. Some drivers had specific 'operating hours', Ah Hui was open to discussion on our daily schedule. On some days he left us after 9pm after ensuring we got dinner and safely arrived at our lodging.

Armed with a local-community driven food-review app and numerous years of taxi-ing experience, he always brings us to ulu but savory food stalls. We would not have tasted these stalls if not for him. Ah Hui brings along his Canon EOS 77D which took great shots and saved us the trouble of getting help for group shots.

Cab Driver: Ah Hui
Contact No: +886 988 090 976 (Whatsapp)

Hi all,

I am only posting as I did benefited from the forum, managed to get some contacts off this post for my Taiwan trip last week. I engaged 3 different drivers during my Taiwan (KHH-Taichung-TPE) trip, of which 2 of them was from this post. One of them is a 'famous, often mentioned' and the other was from a post that some were accusing as fake. Both were same price at NTD 3500, the famous one did charge me extra for exceeding an hour. The other driver did not charge additional for the exceeded 2.5hours.

I would say that both drivers were pretty good. The famous one was very polite and knew the right thing to say. The other guy was sincere but not as smart in portraying himself in a good light. In conclusion, I think each to their own, it is all about your own needs. I suggest dont just omit those drivers whom name were posted by those newbie of HWZ. Most of those posts are obviously from Singaporeans, I highly doubt that Singaporeans will make fake posts for a small amount of money(finger-crossed). However, if you are looking for a smart and polite driver, then those few whom are widely mentioned would probably suit your need.

Those who are travelling on budget, can consider hiring driver off the road(Kaohsiung/Taichung), most quoted me NTD 3000/8hours for 4 pax. I would also suggest travelling via HSR(get tickets via KLOOK) as an option for more convenient locations, save a lot time and money. Firstly, you get to experience something different. Secondly, you wouldn't need to pay for your driver's accommodation and food for making him travel out of where he stays (they usually add it in the amount that they quote you).

P.S: :s13: I have 4 Fruit Picking Vouchers from Taiwan Tourism Board (didnt had time to use it) that I would like to give away. Anyone whom are interested, can just pm me. It is valid till end of Dec 2017. :s13:
