Just got back from Taiwan, highly recommend 文钦 (ken pan) from Taichung, but no worries as he cartered us from Taipei to Taichung then Sun Moon Lake and QIngJing. He is energetic and caring, because we are.vegetarian and its hard to get a vegetarian restaurant/food out of town, he tried his best and brought us to some good vege restaurant and bakery to ensure us have some food and.snacks to take for supper and also breakfast.

What surprised us is he brought us to grapes picking at farm which is not in itinerary. And all the way to Hehuanshan for scenary. What a beautiful place and thats not part of our iti too

Just sharing my personal experience...

been a regular to Taiwan but due to traveling with big family of 9, I engaged driver. A humorous and dedicated driver who was strongly recommended by a friend.

Engaged him (Taipei & Cingjing) twice for the last 2 yrs, and both experiences were awesome. My gf's mom went there twice and celebrated her bday. The folks love him & his humor. With him, our trips were perpetually fun; he's loaded with humor. He has his own fleet of vehicles. Even went extra mile to find us chilli paddy. Trips were well planned and he brought us to food joints where local goes to, instead of touristy place (upon request). I got to know my Taiwan driver through my best friend who visits Taiwan every year with her family.

He is one of the most helpful and funniest man i know. He will basically help you plan your itinerary and if you wanna add or remove any places he will gladly do so and even offer his opinions of where is good or which route is better.

As taiwan is a chinese speaking country, he is therefore not fluent in english but he will still try his best to communicate which will result in really hilarious scenatios. Theres never a dull moment with him around. He even surprised my mum with a birthday cake and helped us get stuff which were out of the way and we rrally appreciate it.

I highly recommend him especially if you are travelling with a big group.

Sry not actively checking this thread. We are split into a van and a car which can accommodate 7pax and 2pax respectively. But for luggages I think a van max 6pax with luggages. But it's better to chk with driver directly base on their fleet.

I suggest to quickly find driver cos I reckon slots are filling up fast cos it's in 2mths time.

Last March, I booked my trip with Eason Chen after reading umpteen reviews from HardwareZone, Tripadvisor and FaceBook. Due to his popularity (almost always fully-booked), his team mate 小林 took us instead and he was equally good. You know you have a good driver when you run into problems and we sure did (one of us fell sick). Although it wasn't a perfect trip due to the illness, but my travel mates still had wonderful memories because we really felt the quality of care and service by 小林.

Ever since that trip, I've been observing & marveling at their FB posts (all their clients, be it young or old, were full of praises for them...Eason is really good with elderly and kids) so much so that I made up my mind to return again this year, then Covid-19 struck. Looking at the situation, the virus won't be going away so soon hence it became even more important to get a driver who can provide that extra "protection" if I'm still going through with my postponed trip later this year (we can't possibly hide at home forever).

Anyone can verify from Eason's FB that his vehicle is cleaned and fully-sanitized every time (even when the same clients alight or board the van during the trip and the amt of sanitizing & air purifying agents he has in the van) plus the masks and all. I'm probably ruining my own chances (to secure him as my driver) by this post but I think helping good drivers who can provide that additional peace of mind during our holidays to stay in business is a WIN-WIN for everyone in the long run.

Just came back from Taiwan on the 20th (barely missing the Stay Home Notice). We went before things took a turn with the number of COVID-19 cases skyrocketing, everyone in Taiwan was high in alert about personal hygiene and mask wearing for safety purposes.

We had booked a 2 days Yilan trip with 游大哥 via whatsapp based on this review i saw on HWZ. I'm very glad I had chosen to book with 游大哥, he's very professional (he used to work closely with Chan Brothers to organize tours in Taiwan), very flexible, proper, accommodating and kind. Before we went, he kept texting us to take note of the travel restrictions in Taiwan in case we face any trouble coming from SG. The first time we met him, he brought an army of alcohol hand sprays and ginger slices emphasizing the importance of safety for everyone. I thought that was very kind and professional of him!

I planned to visit Taipingshan and the roads were long and winding but he drove with much confidence having been in the travel industry for decades (hence putting my very timid mum at ease).

Thanks to the posts here, I whatsapped 潘品中, who connected me with his nephew 潘文欽 for a 5 days multi-city trip.

I already had some places I wanted to go, but I think if you have no plans, you can ask him for recs on where to go and eat. For instance, he suggested going to 旱溪夜市 instead of 一中街夜市. He said that 旱溪夜市 is a more traditional night market which more locals will patronise, and it's very big too. Glad that we took up his suggestion for that. It has the vibes of 花園夜市 in Tainan.

He also offered some food suggestions like 阿三肉圓 and 大元鹹麻糬 in Changhua City.

If you haven't booked any accommodation, I think you can ask him for recs cos he said he has some tie-ups with hotels too, so might be able to offer discounted price?

Sometimes, he would provide some commentary on the place you are visiting. He can also chit chat with parents lol. Also helped to take photos of us.

He would also buy some food or snacks for us to try. Also would provide bottled water in his car and replenished them. Can also request him to play YouTube music playlists in his car.

On some days, even though we have exceeded the hours (by right should be around 8-10 hours), but he was willing to drive us around without asking for extra charge.

Overall, 潘文欽 is a good, reliable driver who went the extra mile for us. A steady driver too, not like those anyhow jerk and brake kind.
