I dunno if it applies to anyone.. as Xiao yi sound more like an agent than cab driver.So far most comments are after booking a day trip.He will arrange stand by drivers to take over. Not many actually received his service. For me, I would prefer to talk to the driver tat will be driving me around and not some last min stand in driver. IMO

Xiao Yi initially quoted me NT$2400. I found another driver at NT$2000 so I told Xiao Yi I'll source my own driver but he said he'll help me get a driver at that rate so I let him arrange cos I wasn't at any disadvantage mah.

The official rate from Taichung to Cingjing based on the price chart of the yellow cab is NT$3500 before I attempt any bargain. The flag-down cab I took from Taichung TRA to my hotel showed me the rate chart. It's a nicely laminated price list

Xiao Yi is a Wish cab driver. I actually saw him at Starry Minsu from my balcony on my 2nd day as I recognize him from some photos online but I didn't say hi though cos I have not brushed my teeth

I would like to recommend Miss LEE, a taxi driver I met in TaiZhong. She specialise in Taizhong but ok with other part of Taiwan (require earlier booking).

Hi, just got back from my Taiwan trip a couple of days back. Got to know mr. liu through a friend's recommendation. Travelled with him for a total of 4 days. He is really friendly and knowledgeable but he can only understand chinese and taiwanese language.

The trip with him was really fun and memorable and i find his fees really reasonable (unlike some taxi drivers who charge the same amount everyday despite the difference in distance, whereas mr.liu charges by distance) thus i would recommend him to anyone who wants to hire a cab in taiwan Let me know if you need more information. Hey! Sorry for the late reply. Can SMS him or whatsapp. We called him in the end cuz it was quite a last minute thing. The hotel tour wanted to charge us at a v high price. Thanks to the forum, we got his contact. I realize that in Taiwan they use whatsapp v often.

from kenting to hualien, the time needed is at least 2-3hr
although the coastal view at taitung is veri awesome

You can try asking any of the contacts written in this forum. I'm sure at least someone will not turn business down.

Here are the details of the taxi driver I travelled with, he's really good as four days is a long span for us to know he's sincere in his services but he only speaks/read in Chinese (Mandarin) you can try asking him..
