Nope.

Suggested route:Cab to Jiufen, cab to Shifen, then get train to keelung changed at Badu station.

2 person is easier to travel. So not much of a hassle.

Has anyone used the service of Frank Lin? He has quoted me a 8D7D Taiwan trip for 6 pax including hotel accommodations for my Dec trip, and he is asking for a TWD10000 advance deposit to book hotels as he says it is peak season in Dec. is it normal to ask for such deposit? Anyone has used his service.

Why not plan your own itinerary? And only engage drivers when you are going mountainous area or inaccessible places?

When u r at hualien, look for 紀展男 :0921 633238, just drop him a call when you are in Taiwan, tell him 小周介绍的。
We engaged his service for 7 pax on Thurs for taroko n qingshui cliff. Very engaging person and super knowledgeable. Took care of my aged granny throughout the trip.

Wanted a day at taroko and another day at hualien-taitung coast, but due to weather, we have to retreat earlier.

Though we paid a little more, the trip was fantastic and worthy, i am sure you may be paying lesser by engaging a taxi driver at train station, but service could be questionable.

If u hail a cab randomly, you pay about 2500-2800NT for an 8-9 hour service.

Above, we paid about 4K, as it was a much more bigger transport and new vehicle, not the lao kok kok type.

Or check roundTAIWANround

Taroko marathon details.

By the time u are done, say 10am, either u hail a cab where you start off running or will be back to xincheng station.

My worry for you, the road maybe partially closed to clear up for the marathon or has some road restrictions.

Wikitravel quotes:

"Annual Taroko International MarathonEvery Year in early November the Taipei Road Running Association and Taroko National Park closes the winding road through the gorge and host a marathon, half marathon, and 5 kilometer fun run. The event is open to the public and anyone can participate by contacting the CTRRA through their website. [3]If you plan on attending this event or just visiting the gorge during the marathon weekend, make sure you make your hotel and transportation reservations early and keep in mind that the road through the gorge will be closed for a good portion of the race day. Hey there

I need a driver for 2days - 1D Yilan and 1D Hualien in end October.

One driver Mr Huang quoted me Twd11000 inclusive of the 2 days sightseeing plus pickup at taoyuan airport and also transport from yilan to hualien.

Is that reasonable or ex?

Anybody has better and cheaper drivers to recommend?

Thanks in advance!!!
