Just came back from taipei 5 days ago. Hired Ah Hao for a day trip (9AM - 7+PM) to yehliu-keelung night market-jiufen-shifen for 4 pax at 3500NT.

His driving is quite steady, didn't feel unwell with all twists and turns along the mountains.
Brings us to quite a few scenic spots along the way, very friendly in helping my family take photos as well. Gives a brief history/explanation at each spot. Doesn't pressure you or give you time limit (like what time you have to be back here). He will just ask you to go and walk and take your time.
When we were going back, my sis felt tired and he dropped her back at the hotel. We asked if he could drop the rest of us at xmd and he did so very obligingly.

Hi all, wanted to share with you all my recent taiwan taxis booking with Ah Hao! Hes really a nice friendly & funny guy.

While I was planning to book the taxis, I do google online & saw a few of them recommend him. Hence I text him and check with him his price, itenary etc. Before I confirm my booking with him, he already treat me like his friend to take note of some little issue which I had overlook and may disrupt my planning. Eg, shifen waterfall last entry at 430pm. So far none of the taxis driver who I liases with told me all those. Hence his friendly and sincere attitude make me confirm my booking immediately.

Along the journey he will also share with you about the attraction interesting stories in a funny way. You will be busy laughing in his taxis and before you know it, you reach the next attraction! Another plus point is he will never set a time limit for each attraction. He say most importantly we must enjoy ourselves. Hence once we are done, we just call him. He also surprise us with firwork at shifen! Its really a amazing beautiful personal experience to set firework on our own! Trust me its better than taipei 101 countdown.

Forget to mention, I was telling him briefly about me finding the piyo piyo shop to buy a water bottle for my niece. He took an extra effort to bring us to the shop to buy it. Really appreciate it

yes agreed! Ah hao 阿豪 is a very nice, friendly and thoughtful driver with the best customer service i've ever engaged for overseas trip driver. He was so thoughtful that he specially bought firecrackers for us after our sky lantern experience at shifen knowing that we do not have this chance to put our own fireworks in Singapore. Furthermore he doesnt push us or give us any time limit during our shopping and dinner at jiufen.. and even though we over spent the time limit, he is not calculative and doesnt extra charge us like the other cab drivers. He treats his customers more like his friends and is very fun and comfortable driver to talk to with a sense of humor. I'll strongly recommend Ah Hao to my friends and anyone who wants to engage a driver in Taipei! ^_^

I engaged Ah Hao recently for my 5D4N Taiwan trip after recommendations from this thread. Yes, he is a very friendly driver who does not hestiate to answer any questions you asked him about taiwan. He does not give you a time limit on how long you need to report after every location and is very patient. He brought us to some rocky areas and took photos for us. Originally, i didn't wanted to engage him because there are tons of drivers advertising in ximending at a price of 2500NT and he is charging at 3500NT. However his service is Top-notch that i am willing to write a long review for him.

I had asked the drivers advertising in xmd on their prices and they are charging 2500NT for 10 hours and every extra hour will charge 400NT so if you engage for 12 hours, total charge will be 3300NT. However, i did not give in to the xmd drivers offer as the recommendations on Ah hao is so good that i am willing to give it a try. The thing about travelling overseas is that you rather pay more for service than cheap drivers trying to cut corners and earn your $$ using fine print after u engage them. I personally saw some drivers along my journey when they simply drop their customers at the rocky area and ask them to explore themselves..

Who have contacts for Taipei drivers? I've contacted 阿豪 and sadly, he and his friends are not free and the period we are going is during the tomb sweeping period where they have 3 days of official leave, a lot of places cannot go as there will be jams everywhere according to 阿豪.

A brief description of where we wanna go for a 1day tour: 东北角宜兰海岸国家风景区，平溪，十分，潭水。阿豪told us that潭水is out of the way so is it possible to squeeze the other 3 areas into a day trip? Please give me some advice. Thanks!!

was quoted 34k for 7 days trip including Taichung/Tainan/Taipei. Works out to be 4800/day. Is the price reasonable or too exp?

Seems ok. I got quote about this too but no tainan instead is alishan . slightly more ex than this.

Hi all I have a taichung driver to recommend, my friend recommended this driver and ask me post online for him however I booked him for my trip but not yet went there he is kind to answer my hell lots of question and was patience. His rate for nantou and taichung is 3500/10h he charge cheaper because he is a private car if u are interested can give u his contact number.
