Highly recommended!

Booked ah hao for my trip to jiu fen, shi fen, yeliu etc 2 weeks ago.
He charged NT3500. There were 4 adults and 2 kids in our group.

He was very friendly and very punctual.
His car is very clean and new. He is not the talkative type but if you have any queries, he would gladly help you.

Very good service from him and highly recommended.

Asked around taxi at hualien station, they said 2.5-2.9k norm. 2k? Hmm...

No idea. itinerary usually from hualien to taroko to tiansiang to hualien.

To add: there are touts outside train station. Price for a shared tour will cost 5-700 per day. Usually ends by 4pm

Its my 1st time venturing out of taipei. Was hoping to cover Taichung, Nantou, Hualian & Yilan

Based on the taiwan map these are the next closest to Taipei

Start from Taichung and finish off in Taipei

Taichung/Hualien - 3/4 nights

Taroko gorge
Qixingtan
Ching Shui cliff
Sun moon lake
Fengjia
Cingjing
Wen Wu temple
Mount He Huan Shan

Yilan -2 nights

Jiaosi hot spring
Suao Cold spring
Guishan island for whale/dolphin watching
Wufengchi Waterfall for scenic


So my questions are:
1) Book a single driver who will cover from Taichung back to Taipei is it feasible? Or is there any driver who even does such a thing and what is the estimated cost?
2) Book a driver for Taichung, another for Hualien and then another in Yilan? will the driver for each area bring me from one county to another? ie, Hualien to Yilan or Yilan to Taipei?


Do kindly share with me your kind recommendation of drivers too. Family size of 3

I booked a Taichung driver recommended by my fren who used him when she was there. So far his quote is e lowest. But the common thing is Taichung drivers do not drive u for more than 9-10hrs unlike taipei drivers. I've nt used him b4 but he is very friendly. I think u can book a driver if u intend to go far like Alishan, SML, CJ. Though these places can be reached via public transport. But since u r on holiday, y nt spend a bit. Normally I booked one to two weeks in advance, coz my travelling date is weekends Weekends alot of tourists taking picture and walking around at yeliu, jiufen, shifen

Moi says depends on the durations that you need the driver for. If long bookings, book early.

Got recommendation for good taxi driver/s for Cingjing and Hualien? 3pax.

From Cingjing need to go to Taroko Gorge then go to Hualien, so advisable to use Cingjing driver to bring to Taroko Gorge?

Had a great 1 day tour last week with Ah Hao. He is a very patient driver and a wonderful tour guide cum photographer. He even bought us fireworks when we were at 十分 for 天燈. At the end of the day when reach back our mingsu, he even waited for us to put our things and give us a ride to our next eat n shop destination. Double Thumbs up for him !!!
