try 吕至峰。 he's my taichung driver on my trip 3 weeks back. very nice, father-ly uncle. gave me a very reasonable quote for my xinshe tour & even took me to other places even though it was not in our initial itinerary.
you can watsapp him @ +886 987 756 967. he replies very fast, unless he is on the road. watsapp him in chinese for faster replies.
even though he is based in taichung, through my conversations with him, i think he got provide cab tour in other cities too!

second this, very friendly uncle, he can plan for u if u hav no itinerary, or he can give u his advise.
hired him at taichung for one day (xinshe+other places) he will bring u to see sunset, no extra charges if time exceeds.
i was quoted 3k from 9:30 to 6, but we packed alot places, we reached back to hotel at around 7+, there were no surcharges

Nope. He will drop u off and recommend u wat to eat then he will drive off. After u r done, call him n he will come pick u in 2 - 3 mins.
Hey guys... I went to Taiwan last month, and I too did hire a driver too, whose name is Jerry Hsu (許杰睿).
He is based in Taipei, but he can also travel out of Taipei. He is very very nice and friendly, and if you are very opened to try things, he is glad to introduce them to you too. Very good driving skills, and goes an extra mile to help you.
I kinda booked him for 5-6days, of which itinerary is something like
Airport -> Cingjing -> Sun Moon Lake -> Taichung -> Tucheng (to stay for a night) -> Taipei (my last accommodation location for several days) -> Jiufen -> Yilan
This journey although so many days, he only quoted me NTD 18500, and I did several calculations before, and found it relatively cheap so I gave it a try. In fact, he was awesome, and he has become a good friend of mine now. Which is why I am gladly keen to recommend him, because I do sometimes keep in touch with him too.

He can even help to find accommodation and even recommend you almost ALL sorts of stuffs, and I really mean...

Anyone have private car contact for 3 to 4 travellers instead of 7 ? We have been reading a lot & checked with some drivers in Taiwan as well. Most of them are offering 7 - 9 seaters which is a bit expensive for us.
Or alternatively, anyone interested with our itinerary which we can car pool. We have 3 adults. It should be comfortable still if we have 2 more adults for 7 or 9 seaters car.

i cant remb clearly..but i think his cab is the 9 seater type. (initially wanted to book him, but he was not available, but i manage to meet him at one of my destination)..not sure of his charges though

Hello, i just came back from a trip to Hualien, booked a driver, Mr. Cai. Drives a comfortable X-Trail, i usually suffer from motion sickness, but have no problem in his car.
Visit Taroko and he sure knows all the good location to take pictures and also help us take good picture as he is pretty interested in photography too.
He is very friendly and not time rushing. Mine was 9am till 5pm but he took his time and we only got off around 5.45pm. Really enjoyed my tour and it was my most well spent money for the whole trip.
