Since it's optional, there is no market for you to spoil. Just tip them what you think is ok or can afford. I tip based on the 10% "rule".

ya actually kevin nowadays very busy. when i first booked him last yr for my trip i like his service very much and i started to intro him to my friends. this year's trip i find him but he is fully booked already. but he still very nice help me find driver. even called me late night (after he finished with his customers) and discuss my itinerary with me and share with me how much will my trip cost. and he helped me to liaise with his friend (the driver he helped me booked) and nego the price for me.. the fact that he helped me to bargain, actually he don't take any commission from the driver but just doing me a favor help me to find driver and also help his friend to get business.. but i have to admit these days he seldom reply msg and i have to send a few reminders maybe because he really very busy..

other than that, he is really a very good driver. maybe can send him a few reminders and check with him further. they have alot of customers and might forget to reply you or remember your travelling dates. i think as customers we should also be considerate abit, though we are paying them but we are not the only customers they have also ma

Kevin does have a small notebook that he use to keep track of his confirmed booking. It is good to confirm your booking ASAP and work out the details later. That's what I did. Maybe you can call him instead of messaging him.

taipei is abt 3500ntd for 10 hours

Because I msg Da Zhou and Kevin. They said they will get back but they didn't I have also asked Zhi Feng, Ah Hao.. both said they are not free.

My family and I just came back from Taiwan last week and our taxi driver was David Liaw from My taiwan Journey!

I need a taxi driver to drive us around Taichung for 2 days base on my itinerary and I am really thankful that he was available as he is able to speak both English and Chinese. He planed out the 2 days itinerary for me too and didn't miss out any of the places I wanted to visit instead, he recommended me 1 more popular spot to visit. The price David quoted me was NT3000/day (5 places in a day) which the best among all the other drivers that I have contacted. Deposit wasn't required either.

His car is a 8 seater, Volkswagen Caravelle 2,000 C.C, even though it is just the 3 of us. Giving us plenty of space and is super clean too! He always arrive earlier to meet us and knows a lot about Taiwan History too, because he is a certified tour guide! hahaha We went to night markets together and he treated us to desserts and delicious milk tea!

David is very reliable and his service attitude was perfect. He told us he is able to drive passengers around Taiwan, not just Taichung, so for my next trip we will contact him again.

just got back from taiwan last weekend. contacted kevin cos i booked him last year but he is not free this time round. he arranged for a taichung driver for me, Mr Xu. Mr Xu is very nice, we booked him for 4 days but he only took us for first 3 days. Picked us up from airport and took us to a cheap and nice place for lunch, before heading to flying cow ranch. during our taichung trip, he was very accommodative, when i have places i wanna visit (got a transformer place near Feeling 18), he also ok to bring us there as long as i give him the address... and he even treated us local breakfast and some drinks along the way. a very nice driver, very knowledgeable as well. as he couldn't send us from hualien to taipei on the last day, he arranged another driver but this other driver was very lousy.. we feedback to both kevin and Mr Xu and they very sorry about it and promised to blacklist him.. hahahaha!

by the way, Mr Xu drives a 7 seater and his cab can take quite alot of luggage. we had like 3 big luggage and 3-4 small luggages, total 6 pax. if you all want to book him, can LINE kevin for his contact. i heard from Kevin, they work tgt quite closely... like if kevin not free, he will intro customers to Mr Xu and if Mr Xu not free he will intro to kevin also...

for taipei we had 1 day tour by driver intro by kevin as well. his name is Joseph.. his english very good cos he always have korean customers. his is a very knowledgeable guide/driver.. he could tell us some background about the places... he brought us to free hotspring (to soak leg) at beitou... and some other places along the route to shifen/jiufen... and upon our request, brought us to wan li to play paragliding.. as it was raining, he even take umbrella and shelter me all the way until it was my turn to "fly" hahahaha! when at shifen he also intro us what nice food to eat... and also followed us around to help us take photos and send me the photos subsequently.. highly recommended! can add him on LINE +886958910218

RECOMMENDED TAIWAN CAB DRIVER

Hi all,

My family and I (5 persons) went to Taiwan and toured mainly in Taichung and Taipei for about a week. If you all need a Young energetic driver (Name: Simon) who is willing to go extra miles without any hard sell, i think he is the one to go to. Also, he is very flexible with individual itinerary, and to those who do not have an itinerary, he has his own itinerary based on his past experience with other clients. In addition, he is currently running this tourism business with his family and has lot of experience cater to different group of people; couple, family or friends. Overall, he has tell us what to take note during our whole trip:

-Where to get our Sim card and which telco to buy from
-Where to eat out and cheers (restaurants, pubs...etc)
-Where to get the best exchange in Taiwan which i found to have better exchange rate than Singapore
-What to take note when taking taxi in Taiwan so that u wont't be charge like a carrot head
-He also help to plan our route so that we could complete our itinerary in time

All in all, it is quite a good experience during that week.

Just came back from taiwan. We got kevin to drive us around in Taipei. My gf was not feeling too well and he was very accommodating. He was able to find clean restrooms throughout our journey quite promptly. We got to see many places even though we had quite a few breaks. In addition, he has a flair for taking nice pictures.

Great driver, will definitely get him again!
