[Recommend] Good Mechanical Keyboard

my filco kb collecting dust...
quite sad they onli offer 1yr warranty. wan sell also hard

how do you guys clean your mechanical key caps? take out 1 by 1 and wash/ gentle scrub? like that very troublesome sia...

take out 1 by 1 by, put all caps into bucket of water with baby shampoo.

wait for them to dry, and put back one by one.

after a year you will be to lazy to clean :/

If lazy, can try wiping with alcohol free wet wipes...

Got any preventive measures than to clean it after the dirt accumulates?

those should be greases, nothing much you can prevent them I think, cover your kb after use, wipe daily with wet tissue?

is it normal for ducky keys to have... kind of a "narrow" feel when typing or resting ur fingers on them...?
also the gap between keys feel wider than usual, so i'm more conscious of the gaps when typing (esp when i'm not so fluid at typing)...

coming from cmstorm qfr...

Actually if mechanical grease is turning black instead of light brown, time to clean all the gunk with q tip. by right need to remove all the grease with alcohol then reapply switch grease to make your keyboard very smooth. Now my red switch is too soft on my filco lol, though I am using another convertible 2 brown now lol.

P.S. If dunno how to grease or apply switch grease - don't. If apply too much your switch will be killed so much faster.

Vacuum cleaner fitted with small brush head with bristles works fine for me.

Wouldn't recommend this, vacuums usually cause static buildup which can be harmful to electronics - usually backlit keyboards (the no.1 killer of leds is ESD - electrostatic discharge)

Unless you have an ESD-safe vacuum (which is quite costly), you shouldn't be vacuuming electronics.

don't think this works for me.. at most can suck up the dust/ hair that got into the keyboard. what I wanted is to get rid of the stains on the key caps, mostly on those i press often..

grease? you mean the switches itself when plug out the key cap? that one not an issue i guess.. i'm using an old but new cherry keyboard with black switches that my dad kept for very very long time.. can't see any greasing on the exterior of the switches also..

The PCB of the keyboard is still electronics, but at least there's 108 less stuff to potentially blow (104 keys=104leds)
Could possibly vacuum it, since most keyboards would be built to withstand small amounts of static discharges.
You could also "ground" the keyboard to prevent static buildups.

Been 9 months with Filco Minila Air. Very happy with it.
