There should not be any price difference between hot swap or soldered board.
The cost incurred usually is from soldering kits.

Looks a bit too thick for a custom keyboard but the wooden case should dampen a bit of the noise. Overall looks good though.

It is a GK61 kit, so you can always get the GK61 aluminum case if you prefer.

The new version is GK61X and GK61XS for bluetooth connection.

So if they write alu is the alu casing, wood is the wood casing, what is semi finished ah? don't quite understand.
Also I see that the height is quite high hor? Height is it based on case or is it bcos of the board? I'm looking at wifi.

Taobao is by far the cheapest.
Other alternative sites are Aliexpress and Banggood.

Yes preferably all from Taobao since is the cheapest. For 60% it depends if you prefer with or without arrow keys.

Yes this is group buy only which ended back in April. I did joined this one as it is one of the more affordable group buys, picked up the Transparent Tiffany. R2 comes with wired and wireless option, can only choose one unless you add-on the other option when check out.

It's really just a personal preference thing.
I went from Blues (Clicky tactile) > Browns (tactile) > Logitech Romer G (also tactile) > Silent tactiles > Silent linears > Gateron yellows (Not yet tested, still waiting for shipment).
Initially i just can't get used to the linear switches. But after spending like 1-2 weeks with it, i slowly got "converted" to a linear switch person. I can type relatively fast, so i prefer a non-tactile feel when typing. Less resistance, more smooth.

My fiancee still prefers tactile switches though.
