My keychron k2 is coming on to about 2 years but recently started having weird battery issues. Have been exclusively using it in bluetooth mode and per full charge used to last me about 1.5 to 2 weeks. Since about a week ago, the keyboard would only charge for about 10-15 mins and green led lights up showing fully charged. However, i can only get about 2 days usage before the battery gets fully drained. Tried resetting the keyboard but same issue persists. Now debating whether to open up the keyboard and see if a battery replacement is possible, use it in cable mode only or dump it and get a new one.

Edit: Ok i did some reading in the keychron reddit threads and there are quite a few complaints of battery dying after around 2 years.....
Oh. Mine is about 1.5 years :o
Pls post here when you got a replacement battery and where you got it.
Thanks

Did some further reading and yes it seems possible to do a battery change.

Disassemble the K2

As for battery type, theoretically as long it uses micro jst connector and the battery(thickness wise) can fit and you are able to assemble the keyboard without issues, then any capacity would work. Read some on reddit saying they able to fit a replacement 10000mah or even a 12000mah battery.

The original battery type used by Keychron for folks who are interested(not my pic)

Personally, i don't think its worth the time, effort and $$$ to go through with a battery replacement. Since singles day is around the corner, i will probably be looking at getting a new keyboard. Currently eying 光头75 aka feker ik75.

I change from k2v2 to feker 75 and enjoyed using it more. K2v2 layout is too cramped for me.

Which feker75 version you got? I see the latest is v5 but seems like only for sale on taobao and direct shipping not possible due to built-in battery so have to engage 3rd party forwarder. There are some sellers for v3 on shopee and aliexpress.

Like i said only taobao has the newest v5 version and taobao sellers have the option for the keyboard to be fully assembled and ready for use out of the box. Buy from shopee have to ownself DIY. Nowadays i really don't have the energy and enthusiasm to DIY stuff. At most i might just change the switches but i won't be dabbing in any other kind of modding.

I think for self assembled set, at least needs to lube the stock stabs, for a better experience.

Switches can buy pre-lubed, and honestly after lubing the switches myself the difference isn't that much, so with good switches you can skip lubing tbh.

Think akko also has the same layout that are fully pre-assembled. Not sure if SG anyone selling it though

Anyone that loves lubing switches 60-100+ times repeatedly probably is some sort of masochist.

I really like akko products. Their keyboards feels really good and at a reasonable price
