707 overhype. I bye other brands ard $190-200
The heater price is not expensive.
Usually the charges is like this. Storage heater is 300ish for 35L and 250ish for 25L, then the plumber/electrician is 120-150.

I think AOS will include all in installation cost.

I was researching and saw this AOSmith Gen 6 Water Heater. I have no idea about electric water storage heater as I have been using instant heater for my entire life. Now moving to new place and will have mixer taps and showers so I guess I need an electric water storage heater.

Which model are you intending to buy?
Ive been on instant heater my whole life too 🤣🤣

The one im keen on is an instant heater but shared with 2 bathrooms, but they mentioned if 2 people use at the same time then pressure might be affected.

Actually, there's no point choosing this. The purpose of a storage tank water heater is to save electricity costs, isn't it? By using this, u are wasting electricity by requiring the device to heat up the water as u bath.

By using a aos storage water tank, u can save electricity by heating the water first and then storing the heated water in the tank for future use. As a aos storage tank user myself, the 50 degrees Celsius heated water in the tank can store for at least 3 to 5 days based on my own experiment if left unused.

If u are choosing this for asethetic reasons, all I can say is that u won't notice the storage tank after some time as nobody will be looking up at the ceiling the whole time.

If using the electrician from Aos, do note that they won't conceal the electrical wiring from the tank to the control panel for u. They will use trunking based on my own experience 5 years ago. If u want conceal wiring, u need to engage ur own electrician.

Currently using Ariston water heater (those big water storage type one )..for both bathrooms heating.

Thinking of switching to wall mounted smaller water heaters for both bathrooms.

heard 707 brand is good but I wish to know if there are other brands out there which is quite good also ...

Almost all the cases or fatality from instant heaters came from self installation or from inexperienced and not certified technicians. :o
Now technology has improved.Got built in safety device to cut off electricity in the event of leakage. My old champs virgo 20yrs still working just that the inlet water hose needs to change due to wear but must remove the whole box hence might as well buy new set.

Water heater better be very basic with rccb, without superfluous functions and good to go for many years.
Nowadays many common electrical brands into IWH before that was handy only.
Good is the got rccb switch, booster pump/water v/v and the two hoses can be easily changed from outside w/o dismantling the box.

Used for almost 2 years, so far heater performs as expected but the temperature knob can be erratic at times, will need to turn the knob a few times to get the desired temperature.

Just chanced upon your post, I did service my water storage heater last year at $130 and I heard from the Maintenance team that it is recommended to service once in every 3 years.

Maybe you can Whatsapp them to schedule for servicing.

AOS-contact-details.jpg

They contacted me to service my slightly over 3yrs old 40L digital heater, and the cost now is $171 which i find it is too ex, that is like 1/3 of the heater price.

Mine is also 40L digital heater but servicing cost me $130 including GST although it was nearly 1.5 years ago.

You double check with them the breakdown of $171 and if this amount is also inclusive of 9% GST too.

Thanks for the suggestion, I believe the $171 is inclusive of 9% GST. Guess like everything else nowadays, they increase the price to $171
