Some cost less than $50.

Yes, it's noisy and the exhaust trunking needs to have heavy insulation otherwise it becomes hot

my sis has one in one of her rooms but it were made cooler b'cuz the room has a ceiling fan as well

if both turned on, it's as good as an AC
on its own ..

but a portable AC may not be as strong as how u feel/try at the display store (it's helped by the store's very own AC surroundings)

Not everyone can afford to install multiple aircon units. Sometimes, the other rooms already have aircon, and it is just one specific room that does not. Instead of replacing the entire system just to add cooling to that one room, people might opt for a portable unit.

In my case, the other rooms have aircon, but mine does not as Im staying in a utility room, and there’s not even space for a portable unit.

Yes it is ok cos also switch on the fan too.

not sure which brand my sis currently using
but it's the bulky one w/ wheels

didn't use any ventilator ugly pipe either

just that & the ceiling fan
really cooling
