Not everyone can afford to install multiple aircon units. Sometimes, the other rooms already have aircon, and it is just one specific room that does not. Instead of replacing the entire system just to add cooling to that one room, people might opt for a portable unit.
In my case, the other rooms have aircon, but mine does not as Im staying in a utility room, and there’s not even space for a portable unit.

those are more of cooler than air-con. if your room is big then no point. unless your room is small room. and this one, confirm noisy. i used to use it until the drainage keep leaking water.I mean those portable without trucking.. just pour water inside..something like that
Good or not I won't know but at least this type of AC got compressor to generate cold air out from the unit.Wow $320 is too expensive.
Is it good?
Staying in an old estate and just a 3-room flat. one room for my parents, the other for my sister. When we upgraded, we got a utility room behind the kitchen, and that is where I have been sleeping for years without aircon since their room aircons were installed before the utility room was set up.How come you stay in the utility room
So u sleep without AC at night?

But recently, I have been thinking of installing one. The thing is, all the current units are old already, and only my sister room is working, so if I want to add one, I probably replace all the existing ones too.
I am searching for one...not sure which brand my sis currently using
but it's the bulky one w/ wheels
didn't use any ventilator ugly pipe either
just that & the ceiling fan
really cooling![]()

Intending to move out in 1/2 years time.
was checking, but family members expect only certain brands. so system 3 probably about 3.2 to 3.6k based on my checks on courts yesterday. If those existing ones are like 10 years old or more, installing new ones may sound expensive initially but it actually saves you a lot on electricity over next 7-10 years. Old Aircon will see drop in cooling efficiency plus the introduction of inverters really helped to save money on electricity.
Just do it. A system 3 for your case should not be too expensive, $2,500-$3,000?
review like quite bad. but i think this one from TB cheaper reh.
these dont help in a warm and humid nite, only ac worksthose add water inside and blow is not called evaporative cooler meh? i thought in high humid environment you use that you gonna feel very sticky fast?
rather u get a proper 2nd hand aircon...I was browsing shoppee for portable aircon.
Some cost less than $50.
