I don't recommend any portable speakers with batteries.
Once Battery dies, cannot startup anymore.
:s12:

If you don't mind limited lifespan based on battery can consider
Anker Soundcore Motion Plus

Creative is like the Temasek of tech

Everything it touches dies

LOL! True, Creative have brought over many companies:
- Cambridge soundworks - Now is Oontz similar like Altec Lansing.
Both now make BT speaker but Oontz no sound for many years.
- 3Dlabs - Dead than relive as Ziilabs but no sound for many years
- Emu system - Still alive example Emu X-7
- Broadxent modem PCI card, ADSL modem and etc.

Now they are relying on Super X-fi to survive which they create on their own.
Speakers wise in the past was either Cambridge soundworks product
which was rebranded example Megaworks/Gigaworks or use CS speaker drivers in some speakers.

Cambridge soundworks Extreme 2.1 (US market only)
dims

Katana and etc. speakers are Creative own design.

Creative being a local company should lower their price point in Singapore market compare to other more established international brands. Otherwise there is no point spending the same amount or more for a products from Singapore based company

Assuming you got the space for it:

JBL 305p MkII pair = $350
3.5mm TRS male to dual 1/4" TS male unbalanced cable
2x yoga block as stands = maybe $12

Far and away the best speakers for the money as long as you can don't care about fake overblown bass.

The current trend looks like if the battery is gone, just buy another one. Gone are the ATP3 days.

The current trend is now portable bluetooth speakers.
5.1, 7.1 speakers fad die liao.

2.1 also losing steam.
People are going back to 2.0 Bookshelf Speakers now.

Portable Speakers are not bad, but once battery die cannot startup.

thanks for the recommendation, i looked at a few recommendation in this thread but most of them takes up quite some space, would prefer something small and decent at least

Nowadays the trend ish more on headsets.
Houses and rooms getting smaller and squeezier, ppl get on the go more, and even if the ppl were to work from home, everyone using speakers will get everyone annoyed.

So mostly headsets, 2.0 or soundbars, sometimes with a sub...

Headset isn't new.
The new fad is IEM Earbuds.

Hi guys, my old Logitech z625's bass suddenly died, although the 2 speaker still works, the sound is horrible now without the bass..

I'm a pretty regular PC user, youtube, casual music, gaming, movies.
MSI onboard sound chip, no sound card.

While I'm ok to spend $400 for a Klipsch Promedia 2.1, or some other models along that line, I wonder if that would really make a big different? i.e. is it worth it without a sound card?

Some users mentioned 2.0 bookshelf speaker, but I have never use 1 before so not sure if the bass is good enough?

Z625 is cheap enough now at $189 before any discount and I do have the thoughts of just buying the same to replace..

Any advice?

If u want exactly same sound get 1-1 replacement, idk how durable logitech speakers are. I using ae energy aego m, not heavy user. If u worry about durability, can consider changing brands.

Maybe just get yamaha active subwoofer and mix in.

The Aego M seems to have positive reviews, where is a good place to get it? A very quick search on shopee only see 1 seller @ $299.
