Hi, anyone bought Hitachi WB640 recently? Any review?
Yesterday I went Harvey Norman to have a look at Refrigerators, this model caught my eye too. LOLZ.. I am also searching for the review. Most likely will settle for this model.

Seems like this model is quite popular. I just got my set delivered today.

Was supposed to get it delivered 2-3 weeks ago together with my tv and washing machine and dryer, but sales agent at MEGA called me and told me distributor no stock and stock delay. That being said, I saw from Hitachi website that there's a newer model which is exactly similar but with extra IOT feature and lower (2 ticks) energy efficiency. Heard from my friend who is interested in this model that its slightly more expensive.

Do check with their stock if you want it soon.

Yeah, when I was HN , the salesperson also says no stock for now, and is quite popular.
Appreciate if you can feedback maybe after a week of usage, thanks. Never use 4-6 doors fridge before, haha.
My previous model was HITACHI RVG450P3MS , this time round decided to get a bigger fridge.

Thanks for the info. Went to website to take a look at the newer model but saw that there's no black colour (would like black to suit my kitchen theme). Also more expensive and additional component that may be broken/need repairing (the IoT part)

Does WB640 have automatic door closing if you don't close it fully? Also would appreciate a review of the fridge too :)

Just bought the Hitachi WB640 IoT version at $1.9k (mirror colour). Considered a display set as it was recently resold back to the store - the previous owner got the measurements wrong during kitchen reno.

But it's a new unit, no scratches or dents. Price was too good to refuse and the IoT version sends a notification to your phone if any door isn't closed (one of our mains concerns). Free delivery and disposal too. Overall a good deal :)

Many of these big Japanese brands’ products are no longer made in Japan, mostly in China. So are the Korean brands. So no point paying more for Japanese brands, I find that Samsung’s fridges are the best deal

what is the benefit of connecting to smart phone?
Can use phone (via app) to control the temperature of each compartment; if any door not closed, a notification will be sent to your phone; when you are near the fridge, there are sensors that light up an area on the doors for you to touch to open the fridge (no need to open by manual pulling). You can check out the website for more details.

I initially wanted the normal version (without IoT) as it's cheaper and the smart functions don't matter to me. But because the IoT display set was going at $1.9k, it was a no brainer to just hoot

OK if you're not paying more for it. Rest of the functions are pretty useless actually. The only mildly useful one is probably the fridge door ajar notification lol

In fact, most are from Thailand or Malaysia for fridges.
