Ugh, just stick to black. A well polished, elegant black calfskin shoe is sufficient.

White leather shoes are awful in every way and has no place in formal dressing regardless of black tie or white tie.

sz39 really hard to find. thankfully pedro 39 fit me just nice.
I dont really like the idea of getting a bigger size and put in insole. Does aldo, geox and bettle bug have size 39? i know passporte have 39, but i dont quite like the design.

If you want custom-made shoes that are good-looking, good quality and not expensive like the England ones... you have to check out Diamond Walker from Korea, now in Singapore. Followed a friend into the store and was really shocked by the range they have + price is very reasonable for hand make shoes. Not even $1k like the other bespoke stores in town. I believe i saw on their website or FB that even Rain and Super Junior wear their shoes! Korean fashion is really happening... Oppa Gangnam style!

if you're looking for white leather shoes...you may want to consider doing custom-made shoes..there is a place called Q MENSWEAR who specialize in bespoke shoes..according to the shape and size of your feet and can do any design you want.. =)

You've made your only 6 posts today advertising Q Menswear.
Obviously, you have a commercial interest in the company, so why not step up and explain the bespoke process rather than mindlessly advertising.

Always wonder how Zalora profit from shoes such as loake. The uk site is like selling a model for 140 pounds but we can get it for like S$179 - 199 for the same model?

i think Zalora gets a 30% - 50% cut on each item sold on their website.

just bought a pair of leather shoes from ed et al. just wondering if anyone here also bought from them?

and just wanna ask, for the sole of their shoes which is the smooth kind (sorry, i dont know wad is the right word for it), is there a need to visit the cobbler to apply an additional layer below it?

first time encountering such shoes, and its extremely slippery man!

I have three pairs and counting. You're talking about a leather sole, and asking whether a topy - a rubber sole - should be applied over it by a cobbler.

Personally, I prefer using the leather sole as is - a couple days of walking on roads and pavements and you won't have that issue anymore. But if you opt for a topy, well that's your choice man.

I topy, but not because its a non-slip factor.
Singapore is a tropical country, and wet / damp leather soles gets damaged easily and wears out quicker.

It is your choice though.

I never topy my leather soled shoes.

Many shoemakers(not cobblers) advice their customers not to topy their shoes as they say it prevents moisture from escaping the soles. Whether it is true, I do not know but I still rather wear down my soles and send them back to the factory for re-crafting.

Wish I could say the same. I have a pair of pair of StC that just came in, beautiful sole, but 1 day walking around wet pavement and several near missed falls, its safety over beauty for me.

I think they can do in oxford style also... as they do made to measure. I just made myself a pair there... very nice folks too!

Anyone know where to get good and cheap (30-40 sgd?) wooden shoe tree in Singapore? esp since shipping is expensive for the weight.

IC... If you dun mind, I have a couple of questions for u.

1) What size shoes are u wearing and what size shoe tree did u buy?
2) Was ur shoe width a slim fit type or one with a regular width?

I'm on a EU 42, Ed et al shoes are rather slim... So, I am a little worried about the width.
